That's a real tough scenario there - and I know it often takes a little time to find a combination of meds that work with your body and each other.

It sounds like you're making some great choices by looking at different support networks to help you through such a tricky situation.
Keep it up and don't be shy in utilizing them all - church friends & elders, community trusts, help lines, counseling etc.
Things can get a lot easier when you connect with people who have come through similar multiple crisis (spiritual, social, and psychological).

I'm afraid I'm not much of a prayer but I saw a "to pray for" whiteboard on my sisters fridge the other day so I'm sneaking you on there!

FWIW my most trusted method so far for dealing with highs and lows is just to make sure I avoid making serious decisions without sitting on them for a coupla weeks to ensure a more even perspective.

I'm really glad you mustered the courage to share with your fellow Cantina members.

Although it sounds like a unique situation you're dealing with, you're definitely not alone in the dark. One member even started a Cantina Mental Health Thread to encourage us to get things of our chest and check in on our friends during their tough times.

Of course we're no substitute for professionals but we do care, have common ground, look out for each other, and often have a little too much spare time so there's usually someone up for a chat!

 

Will pray, @Moviefan2k4. That's a pretty big burden you're carrying--too much for one person to bear. I'm so glad you asked for support.

 

As someone who has lost a few close family to cancer of which my Father died of non-smokers lung cancer last march I offer my deepest condolences and sympathy to you @Moviefan2k4 .

Mental illness also is a very serious killer of so many good people like cancer yet is still very stigmatised so I consider you very brave to come on here to talk about it.

As you can see above here is a safe space to talk and express yourself cause people here are genuine,my thoughts and prayers with you (I will admit I do not pray as much as I should) but please always consider the cantina your place where friends are.

 

I can't remotely imagine how you feel. I pray that you find comfort and strength during these hard times.

 

I can only empathize so much with your situation, but rest assured my thoughts are now with you. The death of my mother because of lung cancer is now 4 years in the past, but a good friend of mine passed away the week before Christmas because of pancreatic cancer, so mourning comes and goes in our all lives.

You already showed strength with your openness here, and I wish you much more strength for the times ahead.

May the force be with you, and let the Cantina be there for you as I know it is.

 

You're definitely in my prayers. You also have my respect for the bravery you showed in making this post.

I hope one day you are able to come to peace with the trials and tribulations you are facing.

Please remain strong through these vicissitudes of life.

You are here for a reason, we all are. Continue to live so you can find out what that purpose is!

Better yet, be proactive. Create your own purpose and place in this world!

Acceptance is my key to life. Accept what was, what is and what can be.

There is nothing wrong with your heart and mind.

If there was.. you would not be in this much turmoil over such things. You are human. Be proud. Love yourself.

Posts like this show how pathetic is the behavior of people like many of us in the Star Wars community fighting one another because of something so silly as "a film we didnt like". God bless you man. I imagine how you feel ( I really do), and all I can say is I believe that God never makes mistakes, only gives the stronger tasks to the ones who can handle it, to make them stronger. To be each day more prepared to this unknown ahead of all of us.

This is kind of old, but I wanted to write in case you see this.

I'm not religious, but my Mother has Dissociative Identity Disorder and Parkinsons, and currently I'm struggling against a CSF leak that has all but left me bed ridden for almost a month so far along with three surgeries in that same time frame.
On a daily basis I struggle with depression, and pretty much always have.

I can't do much, but I can share.

For me, it is a simple thought:
"The greatest that any human can achieve is accomplished by waking up each day.
Everything else is icing on the cake."

It means this:
Being human is the most amazing experience, just biologically, if you stop and consider how much more we are able to experience in depth than any other species on our planet.
Just by existing, we take the cake. There's literally nothing capable of being more profound in experience than our human existence, even when that experience is filled with chronic suffering.

It's really easy to overlook the profoundness of our awareness and our way of experiencing existing because it's just an every day given to us, but realize that the next highest species can't share this thought because it doesn't even have it. It has no awareness of its awareness in relationship to its existense by comparison to all other species on the planet.

And you get to be a human.
