So, I saw the force awakens 2 times this wednesday and I was totally blown away by it. I really liked the movie!! I wanted to see more of Luke in the movie, but when the movie ended I was ok with Hamills screen time because the ending was so strong.

Now we have to wait for episode 8 and I would like to hear from you guys: What do you think what will happen in episode 8?

I've got so much questions like: What will Finns story be in the next movies, he's kinda clumsy (in a funny way) and I don't think he'll be a Jedi.

Will we see more Snoke? Will we see Luke in action? Is Kylo Ren scarred? Sooooo many questions. So what are you guys wondering about and what will happen in episode 8? :)

I believe we'll have a lot of Luke training Rey.
I hope we also have a glimpse of Snoke training Kylo Ben.
Possibly a confrontation of the two in the end.
I think Finn will assume a big role on the Resistance, like a leader of men on the ground as Poe is a leader on the sky/space. Maybe they'll have a mission together.
I hope to learn more about the First Order. Was the lost of Starkiller Base a huge lost to them or they have much more to offer (like a "First Order Strikes Back")?
Have the full destruction of an ally solar system caused a lost of trust in the New Republic among the other systems? Leia on a diplomatic role?
Phasma will certainly look for revenge and pursue Finn.
Are Han's debts over after his death or will those two gangs seek revenge on his associates (Chewie and Rey)?
Hux also needs to prove his value after losing Starkiller Base.
What is Rey's story? Who where their parents? Will she use the Force to know that or will she interrupt the training to go somewhere like Luke did in Dagobah?

Lots of questions, lots of loose ends, lots of starting points to develop on Ep. VIII.

Kylo Ren accepts that Snoke is just using him and turns against him, leaving the First Order to follow his own interests.
Rey and Luke are called into action in the middle of her training, and by the end of the movie they're separated. Rey is forced to finish her training with Kylo and the Knights of Ren, between VIII and IX.
Luke ends up with the Resistance, and is terrified he'll lose Rey to the Dark Side like he lost Ben.
Finn meets a girl with the Resistance to put an obstacle in his romance with Rey. It'd be cool if he gets a lightsaber, but does not become a Jedi.
    Poe keeps Damerin'.

    It's fun to guess.

I'm thinking "identity" will be quite a big theme in VIII.
I mean, there's Rey, Finn, and Snoke who all have a mysterious past.
Rey will turn out to be someone, Finn will be a no-one, and Snoke will be someone from the past... (I really want Snoke to be Plageuis, even just to bring the saga full circle).

Kylo will continue to reach out for Rey. Snoke will be revealed as an ancient Sith, a once handsome warrior from a time long ago. Luke will train and they will defeat different Knights of Ren as he prepares Rey for the journey of their lives--infiltration in Ep9 of the Snoke's Sith Lair to destroy the ancient evil.

    depends on the starting point:

How much are they making of Finn's coma? Are they gonna brush it aside or use it as a stepping stone. Why is he even in a coma? If he is still badly injured, why is he out of a bacta tank? Or are we talking the famous dark side influence?

Rey is with Luke, Poe and Finn are with the Resistance.
The First Order has been pushed back into the unknown regions for now.

Their weapon is destroyed, but so is the Republic's leadership.

Civil war might break out with the Republic fleet obliterated and only the fleets of the local systems remaining.
Or it might not, with the Resistance elevated to official military, with both Poe and Finn in leading positions.

I'd really like those to working together in different branches.

Does Rey bring Luke? or do they stay on the island together?

    So many questions!

Feel they have to train up Kylo to making him more threatening.... hew was very easily beaten Rey, the Kylo Renn we sore in this film is not going to b a threat to a full Jedi knight..... so making Kylo more thratening with his training with Snoke has be be a key part of the plot.

I'm pretty sure he'll receive a full reconditioning from Snoke.
And I think he should be much more in the game when he hasn't just killed his father and been shot by a Wookie bowcaster

hope so ..... i loved kylo as a character.... but after been so easily defeated he doesn't feel like much of a threat going into episode 8, which is something i think they need to and will address.

The remnants of the Republic have divided between those who surrendered to the First Order and those who rallied behind the resistance.

The First Order unites with another Imperial remnant (Under B del T) and a second Empire is declared.

The relationship between the two factions is frought because they have different values, the new faction is more like The Empire of the Hand and they view the FO as extreme fanatics.

Meanwhile, Luke has gone a bit mad after the destruction of his new Jedi Order and Ben's fall to the darkside. The seclusion hasn't helped, he's buried himself in the study of ancient Jedi lore. Rey needs his training, he needs her to bring him back from the brink. At first he thinks she's an apparition of his mother, but after a while he realises she's his long lost, believed to be dead daughter. Luke trains Rey.

The resistance under Leia, Ackbar et al is fighting a rearguard action against the new strengthened Empire. Poe in the air and Finn on the ground bravely lead troops as their base world is discovered and invaded. Hux and B del T argue over tactics, with the latter arguing to allow the resistance to surrender and the former wanting to wipe them all out. Hux's tactics lead to the tide of the battle being turned.

Luke and Rey arrive and Rey battles Kylo to a standstill while Luke carries out battle meditation. B del T's faction retreats while the FO fight on and take heavy losses before retreating themselves. Kylo escapes. The Resistance escape and Luke announces his plans to find force sensitive individuals and train more. He also is determined to find out Snoke's true identity so he can be destroyed.

Snoke kills Hux, blaming him for the loss of the battle and Kylo is reprimanded for his part in it, creating resentment towards Snoke. This is the first time we see Snoke 'in the flesh', he's seven foot tall and very thin and scarred.

The final scene is Luke and Leia and Finn and Rey getting a proper reunion.

Finn's Force sensitivity is ambiguous. I love that and hate it at the same time. I am sure he will be a Jedi (I hope) but if not he is still a dope character.
Kylo Ren is gonna become a wrecking ball of emotion he could go either way at this point. "I can feel the light pulling"
Rei is going to be a great Jedi, may have some "fear, hate, suffering" action down the line though would make for a great plot twist.

So VII is very much a setting stage film in direct contrast to I and IV which could independently function as stand-alones thus we are left with questions of what is next for our characters as we move into Episode VIII.

Rey, Chewie, Luke- Rey is with Luke and I think she is in line for some pretty big revelations about her past. She doesn't want to be a hero, a warrior, anything like that which is highlighted by her heartbreaking attempt to give Luke the lightsaber. I think that most of her "training" is going to take place between VII and VIII and VIII will involve her and Luke returning to the galaxy at large relatively early on. Imagining they are going with a split party approach similar to II and V Rey, Chewie, and Luke are probably going to head off and do something related to Snoke and the Knights of Ren. I will touch on the sort of conflict I feel they are going to get involved in in a bit.

Poe, Finn, Leia, and the Droids- I seem to be in the minority with this but I felt some heavy hitting emotions as we got to see the senate's final moments with the beam bearing down on them. I feel like JJ felt that we should've seen Alderaan's people facing down death and tried to remedy that. Anyway those of you who felt that we didn't get enough reaction to that destruction we are going to see some fallout in VIII. The Republic has lost both its Government and Military it is going to fall into disarray and possibly swallowed up by the First Order. We saw that the Resistence doesn't even have the military strength of the Rebel Alliance. Really I view them as part of a proxy war, think how the United States handled the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan. But in this case imagine if the Soviet Union suddenly nuked the United States leaving the Mujhaideen without any support. The Resistance is going to be in trouble, and I think they may be going on a search for allies in VIII. Perhaps Poe and Finn help escort Leia to places such as say Hutt Space to help form a new sort of Alliance. This may be how Lando reenters the scene, he could be a Government official in some sort of independent consortium, basically a mirror of his role as leader of Cloud City in V.

First Order- Kylo Ren is going to have some seriously shaken confidence. He got away with pure power and a little bit of training for so long that when he ran into someone equal in power to him his whole self image is going to melt away. He also now has the scars he so sorely wanted, a reason to wear the mask. Snoke is going to want to get his hands on Rey and he is going to task Kylo Ren with finding her while I think Kylo would prefer to either kill Rey or take her as his own apprentice. Hux is going to be more focused on fighting this war with the Resistance, Captain Phasma probably has a bone to pick with Finn after getting humiliated by him. I feel like her role is going to be expanded in VIII and she will be hunting down Finn just like Kylo Ren is hunting down Rey.

    Any other thoughts?

Edit- I agree this should've gone in Plot for Episode VIII so I fixed it

Given the way VII went I think you could bet your house on us meeting Lando at some point in VIII and Finn being his son.

Second film of the PT - Anakin loses right hand
Second film of the OT - Luke loses right hand
Second film of the ST - hmmmm....

I really hope not, but it wouldn't bother me if so.

I am listening Jedi Steps and The Finale over and over again reliving the film and, boy, all bets are off. They set up 30+ years after ROTJ galaxy in a manner that they can take you anywhere. The most important thing is that they gave us the characters we care about and now Rey is with Luke, Finn is wounded, Poe is back with the Resistance, Republic is seriously wounded and Leia needs to deal with it, Kylo is back for more training with Snoke... They can really do anything and I think Rian Johnson has an opportunity to deliver something really special. I hope we will see Knights of Ren home base/planet. It would be cool if they parallel Rey's training with Luke and Kylo's training with Snoke.

I think Snoke "Plaguis" will be turning Kylo into a Sith Lord. I don't think Snoke trusted to train him fully until he kill Han.

Maybe Knights of Ren are Sith Padawans or just some other faction of Sensitive's that go to the Dark side but are not part of the Sith? I also think Snoke rather have Rey now as his 2nd.

Seems to me the franchise can go pretty much in any direction it wants. The only character that really has any kind of cement in his shoes from VII is Ben Solo and even then, we learn all Ben was trying to do was convince Snoke he was "loyal" enough to complete his training.

All the other characters are open books. When you don't provide much exposition, you don't have much of a tangled web to navigate for your sequels.

Expect more of this, expect each 2 hour installment to provide more questions than answers and the "real battle" and the "real revelations" are always in the film just ahead.

Also after Episode VIII is done (and if it makes lots of $$ like this one will) expect Disney to announce that they have "abandoned' the concept of the trilogy and now see Star Wars as a "continuing legacy", meaning you won't get the final conclusion in Episode 9, just another series of hooks and mysteries to move you forward, like a carrot stuck in front of a donkey's face.

You want to know what Star Wars brand management is going to look like after JJ's mystery box special?

    Well something like this:

I feel that EP VIII will be Snoke and Kylo trying to lure Rey to the dark side. Just because Rey is with the legend of the galaxy doesn't mean she is immune to being tempted and that is what I believe will happen. It will be intense because she is strong in the force and it effing scared even Kylo until he was laying on the ground looking up like:WTF just happened?

As for Finn I think he will take a different path. It will not be the Jedi path as some believe. But he will be a kick-ass hero though. As for what he does not sure, maybe working for the Resistance and maybe the love interest of Rey.

I'm still thinking about everyone else.
