That's what I hear, but I mean present day Luke, not flashback Luke, just to clarify. Who even knows if we'll see his face in the flashback, anyway......

True, and it may be a great movie regardless.....but it will be disappointing to me for this reason.

Well not everybody is obsessed with Luke.

Maybe we just watch the movie before we start swinging torches and pitchforks, but I guess that is Star Wars, too. No wonders Lucas ditched out. Maybe we could show some maturity before the franchise is burned and marked as a career mass grave? to much to ask?

I don't think anybody said it'd be a terrible movie, we (or rather, me, at least) are just saying we'll be disappointed if Luke is barely in it, does nothing, and never interacts with Han and Leia (especially if Han dies).

I wonder how Mark Hamill feels about all of this, honestly... (or his fam for that matter out of curiosity)

I think he'd be fine with it. He's brought up the Lucas idea of Luke being introduced with a cameo before himself over the years:

But let's also remember that while Hamill said Carrie Fisher leapt at the opportunity to be in the movie when meeting with George Lucas, Hamill said that he himself didn't react that way.
