    I can only agree, but I think this had nothing to do with your conditions, really. Actually, I suspect the fault here lies in the human eye... you see, humans see red stronger than blue so R5 simply stood out more to Mr. Lars. That, and the Jawas was of course trying to push garbage on the poor moisture farmer, keeping their choice specimen for the big buyers in the cities and at Jabba's Palace.

    Oh, I have a hoard of WEG books stored away somewhere, but wookipedia is always a help. Looks like the R2s-in-R5-chassies aren't canon at the moment, but I guess it is possible.

    Seriously though, it is strange that this unit looks so much like R5 if it isn't supposed to be that specimen somehow. I mean, surely if this is a different R5 they'd paint him differently or something to differentiate him from "Red"? *shrug*

    Maybe blowing his motivator could be a running gag throughout the series. It happens once every episode.

    Perhaps he's a hot-headed little thing, and in moments of stress he just can't help it and the thing pops.
