    remember because it's FOX and not disney...LFL is unfortunately between them and at the mercy for ANH because they own it in perpetuaity and disney isnt buying them out for some reason

    SW canon has contradicted itself multiple times in the past. Given that the 1977 crawl is already out on an LFL-approved home video release, I'd think that adding it to a proper restoration of the 1977 SW would be the least of Lucasfilm's worries. The SE films are already such different beasts anyways.

    Ok, looks like the OUT is not going to be released after all.

    I wonder if there's a chance they are going to release a 4k restoration of the SEs or maybe even a new special edition.

    I mean, something must be going on. MSW seemed to be certain.

    Yep saw the report on the main page oh well it was a nicreally to have hope of a another version of the film.

    Out of interest what are the main film difrence if any between the 2004 DVD'S & the BR.

    Besides, original prints are scattered across the world, so it's not impossible for Lucasfilm to retrieve them. For example, some time ago I've heard that Polish Cinemathique has a print of original cut of A New Hope in their archives.
