    (Note, this is not a wager yet, but I couldn't post without making it one... Once we've landed on a way to pull this off, we will have a wager)

    Hey guys,

    There are people who have decided before the fact that TFA is going to suck, and then there are people who have decided, without any real evidence, that TFA will be the best thing ever. I would like to have a bet for whether or not TFA will be a good/enjoyable/successful movie, but I cannot figure out a way to word such a wager. Can anyone think of a way to do this that doesn't require massive amounts of trust and which isn't too technical (like boxoffice numbers - those are boring)?

    I was thinking something like: "The majority of SW fans will love TFA - yes or no," but how would one test such a wager?

    Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

    how about this... we put up a poll on opening day. good or bad. only 2 options. and set it to end a week or so after the movie comes out.

    Even that will be skewed because of the honey moon stage. Unless the movie is God awful trash and the worst Star Wars movie made to date, the good vote will win out even if the movie isn't good.

    Some peoples expectations will be so high that if they leave disappointed because it didn't meet those expectations. even though the movie was good it's going to cloud they're judgement. I remember mine for TPM and leaving underwhelmed. Years later and more viewings it's not as bad as I thought it was.

    Perhaps this is impossible to do in a rational way. Perhaps we should just do a box office wager instead? (Which would be boring as hell)
