HUMOR Pregnant Rey rumor, nonono don't go wait!

Where is the Reddit/4chan/Spoilers thread for Ep IX? These are the best ones...

 

What a great message for kids! "Be careful, too much hand touching makes you pregnant." No, if Rey gets pregnant, then it will happen in the traditional way. Do I think Rey could be pregnant and have a child in IX? Yes, but only at the end of the movie.

 

Kylo: Kill the past Rey!

Rey: What do you mean?

Kylo: I mean kill that Meatloaf you made last night for dinner because my stomach is in knots!

Rey: (Throws a pillow and cover at Kylo) I've had enough with your mood swings, sleep on the couch tonight!

Look, pregnancy is a beautiful and natural thing...

But I really don't see motherhood being part of Rey's story. At least, not in this trilogy.

It's great that Rey is a strong female protagonist in this film, and if that's the route they decide to go then I assume there's some good reason for it, but simply giving her a pregnancy story because she's a woman seems kinda shallow. Again, not to demean anyone who has gone through this miraculous process, because I truly have respect for you, but rather I just hope that people don't see Rey and immediately think of her in that role simply because she's a woman.

Pregnant by hand touching? Dear god, is this what Star Wars has now become? That's worse than Anakin's virgin birth by midichlorians. I'm going to assume that this was another wild BS rumor thought up by someone with no life and a Reylo obsession? If not, and it was really something CT was planning for IX, then praise the lord that he was fired! Unless of course, JJ comes up with something worse.

 

I think at this point, you're well off with your original assumption.

No need to heat up the coals on the Anti-Star Wars Edge Train for every single unverified rumor you hear.

Yeah.. that's right!! It just kills me that someone out there on the internet goes to the trouble of making this stuff up and putting it out there. And people run wild with it! At this point, I assume that all "leaks" are fanfiction. They haven't even started filming the movie yet!

 

I urge people to read the early rumors on Episode II, Episode III, Episode VII and Episode VIII.

They include such spectacular fan-ego "rumors" as Luke is Kylo Ren...Luke is Snoke...OB1 is the real father of Luke and Leia...and of course the dozens of awful Plagueis theories, for a character that after 8 movies has never appeared on screen and never will.

Fan theories are terrible because they are often designed out of ego, something crazily concocted by someone to get Reddit and 4chan attention. Those poor boys need 4chan attention, they crave it like a baby craves a Momma's teet. Sad, but true and one need only troll Reddit for 15 minutes to see ample evidence of nerds synthesizing real love by pretending they know something they don't.

Remember the huge scene where the "Knights of Ren" were going to invade Ach-To and drive Luke over a cliff? In fact, remember all the insistence the Knights of Ren were "super important" when in fact, they are just one throw away line in VII and that's it?

Exactly, fan rumors are fun, but they are always wrong, always kinda stupid and if you've been around the internet block for a few decades like I have (Star Wars newsgroups as early as 94 here), you realize they are junk. You'll get more out of taking a decent poop and reading the National Enquirer.

 

Rey Random was a rumor 2 until RJ decided to use it. I'm 99% certain Rey's ancestry was decided on AFTER episode 7 finished filming.

 

I'm not ashamed to admit that I was in that camp as soon as the week before TFA's release.

 

Rian finished the (first draft of the) script for TLJ before TFA was finished filming. Furthermore JJ said, he and Rian had similar ideas about Rey's ancestry. So I highly doubt that there were changes after Episode 7.

 

JJ's good friend Simon Pegg sed (paraphrasing) Rey came from a significant lineage. Drunk scavengers r not a significant lineage. Also RJ sed "Ren COULD b lieing".
