Actually I am not a native speaker of English either , although I lived and went to school in an English-speaking country.

Anyway, CBM is an English acronym for “ comic book movie”.

That scene is just showing her that all of the fallen jedi is with her with the force just like how Palptine has all of the previous sith masters knowledge within him. According to Filoni, Ashoka is still alive and just because she no longer a jedi doesn't mean that she lost her force abilities, she just don't follow their teachings just like Luke didn't follow the Jedi teachings of the PT era. Ashoka can still sense what's going on through the force.

It's just the next level of the force skype. That part of the ability was actually foreshadowed in TLJ when Kylo was able to physically feel the rain from Ahch-To due to his gloves being wet even though Kylo was on his star destroyer.

Is it something though that only Ben and Rey can do when communing with each other , or a skill that other force users can learn ?

Personally I don’t think that any of this is how the force was supposed to work in the OT or even the PT, but RJ, Chris Terrio and JJ went along with it and now the canon has to deal with it.

for my part, I think it is due to the dyade.
Not all the jedi may be able to do that, the same as not all the Force Sensitive may be able to become a Jedi.

This is just my take on this - nothing official.

As of right now it's only them two until shown otherwise. There hasn't been any established rules about how the force powers work. All 8 SW movies introduce new force powers that was more powerful than what was shown in the previous movies. I personally just see it as a natural progression of the force. We never saw Obi-Wan force grab or jump really high in the OT but Luke was able to do it but Obi-Wan couldn't in the coxntet of the OT. I mean, you had GL show Obi-Wan can do a force run in Episode 1 but he somehow forgot the ability between Episode 2 and 4. Until they establish what the force can and cannot do, it's fair game. We don't know what the original intent of Force Powers are because George even tweek it between the time of the OT and PT. I don't think he even knows what the limitations are.

    Thought of a new question.

A big deal has been made of Rose Tico's significantly reduced role in TROS. I recently read that JJ and Terrio lamented that many of her scenes with Leia were cut because they couldn't make it work with the footage they had of Carrie Fisher. With that in mind, why introduce Dominic Monaghan's random new guy? Why not give those lines to the underused Rose? It wouldn't make much of a dent in her overall presence in the movie but it would at least be a little more.

    Another question.

Kylo Ren turns back to the light and becomes Ben Solo again. Nobody knows this. Why not return to the FO as the supreme leader and put an end to the war? If the answer is that Palpatine sensed his turn back to the light from light years away, how come he didn't sense the same thing in Vader from a few feet away in ROTJ? If I recall correctly, there's no indication that anyone knows that Kylo Ren isn't the supreme leader of the First Order anymore. Why do the Knights of Ren attack him on Exegol?

Actually I don’t know why and how the Knights of Ren showed up on Exegol to begin with, but I guess it is implied that, like General Pryde, they actually served the emperor. In fact, I suppose most of the First Order leadership could be Palpatine’s agents.

    Another:

Why is there a ground assault team to take out the beacon? Fighter craft fire on ground targets all the time in Star Wars. If X-Wings can take out gun placements on the Death Star why can't they shoot a beacon that isn't firing back at them? Didn't TIE fighters fire on Rey and Finn on the ground in TFA?

Well, he was pretty distracted . . . murdering the guy’s kid - with ever so much glee.
Shields? That’s the hand wavy excuse for the walkers in ESB and TLJ.

I’ll be honest, I’m mot a fan of that post from Filoni. Her voice is heard among those of a bunch of other dead Jedi. I mean, sure, she could be alive, but that would mean she felt no reason to join the Resistance, even after having been a key member of the Rebellion, sat on the sidelines when Palpatine’s message went out and in the call to action, and just happened to be able to sense and communicate with Rey at the exact same time as she was asking for the Force and the fallen Jedi before her to be with her. That is seems a bit..too convenient to me. He had to have known people would assume that, so why even say she could be a part of that if he wanted 70 year old Ahsoka to be alive?

That and..I feel like comparing her to Gandalf in this situation is kind of silly, especially when, well, he did actually die

For a franchise that loves to point out when something is shielded (Destroyer droids, Echo Base, Death Star 2, I've probably forgotten some), this is the instance that they don't mention that the thing is shielded? Sheesh...

I'm thinking this has something to do with The World Between Worlds. Ezra heard Kylo and Rey's voices in TWBW, before either of them were even born. A live-and-breathing Ezra was also able to physically retrieve Ahsoka from the past via TWBW. So it's possible that Ahsoka is still alive, but maybe not in the physical realm?

Ahsoka made a clear point to Ezra in TWBT that you cannot disrupt certain timelines, or else the outcomes will be affected. If she is alive, this is a potential explanation for her dormancy throughout the events of the sequel trilogy.

Wasn’t Ahsoka already suggested to have survived even before the WBW? And then she goes back out of there to where she had been, to be where she was at the end of Rebels. That and..to my knowledge, that gateway to the WBW was destroyed?

No, I said the dagger makes sense. It's at the beginning of the post. Your issue with the dagger was that (originally) you didn't understand who could've written the Sith runes inscribed on the blade. But when that was answered (it was even stated in the film) Sith loyalists were responsible, you then shifted the goalposts as you springboarded into wanting the precise backstory of the dagger so that you could claim "poor filmmaking" since your original question/criticism-in-disguise had been addressed.

To find the wayfinder, it makes sense the characters need something that tells them where it is. Just like the talisman in Raiders makes sense because the characters need something that tells them where to dig to find the Ark. And just like we don't need to know the backstory of the talisman in order for the actual story of the characters to move forward, we don't need the backstory of the dagger for the actual story of the characters to move forward.

But of course it is. How did I know?

Of course. You don't want to criticize Raiders, so it doesn't matter in that film. It only matters when you need it to matter.

Of course you aren't. You're painting with a very specific brush aimed at a very specific film.

Ah, I see. It's no longer a matter of "making sense" a matter of "timing" now. As long as the adventure plot-device could've been made over many centuries then it's not "poor filmmaking" - only if the adventure plot-device was recently made. Makes perfect sense.

Of course not. What's it matter? The story moves forward, right? Who knows who made that thing it could've been anyone. It's not necessary to know that.

I'm sure that the dagger in TROS is the one-and-only "mysterious and unexplained" thing in the entirety of cinematic history that you deem as "needs some light shed on it" or else decry "poor filmmaking". I mean, is there any other plot device in history you need some light shed on?

Well, the exact same thing happens in the Goonies. It's widely considered a classic adventure story.

You're telling me you didn't see Infinity War and Endgame? Look me in the eye and tell me you didn't see Infinity War and Endgame. You know, the two films in which characters were chasing multiple "mysterious and unexplained" plot devices across not just space but also time.

Right, it's not about making sense anymore, it's about the timing. A plot device needs no explanation or backstory as long as that backstory is no loner than, how many years? We should make up a number so our "rules of plot devices which can be classified as poor filmmaking" makes sense and doesn't seem too broad so as to unfortunately impune films in which it doesn't matter... erm, I mean in which it's not poor filmaking.

    Says who?

Of course you think it's legit.

Well then allow me to deeply offer my heartfelt apology. Clearly it only matters when it actually and legit matters.

No, not at all. You didn't give Raiders a pass, it's just that since the plot device in Raiders could've been made, who knows when and by who - it doesn't matter. It's not a sticking point in that movie.

Of course and I completely believe you.

Ah, yes - see we call that "proper contexualization". We know now that the Earth as seen from space has cloud cover. It wouldn't make sense to show Earth from space in a film and not have cloud cover. BUT, the opening shot of that Flash Gordon trailer has Earth with no cloud cover. And it makes sense! How can this be? Proper contextualization. Oh that's how those old classic stories did it! It makes sense if you want to convey the feel of those old classic fims that you emulate the feel and the tropes.

That's why when you see the classic trope of a clue leading to the treasure in a film conveying the feel of those old classic movies - it makes sense! Oh that's how those old classic adventure yarns did it! It all makes sense now! I'm not watching a Stanley Kubrick's 2001, I'm watching Star Wars! Proper contextualization! EUREKA!

Yeah the movies with Gungans and icky icky, with melodrama and space diners, droid arena punfests, nerf-herdering laser-brains, ewoking space wizards it's all taking itself seriously. So serious.

In my opinion Pluto is still a planet. Who cares?

Wow. I think you may have missed every point I made, JJ. It's a pain to go through all of this again, so I'll just say this:

If I were able to look you in the eye, I would tell you that I haven't seen a Marvel movie since Iron Man 2. I don't understand why you question the truth of this. I don't know why you would even assume that I have seen them in the first place.

It looks like you took one line from each of my statements and used it out of context to make your points, even though the rest of the statement proves your new statement wrong.

I have no special love of Raiders that I feel like I can't criticize it.

The difference between the talismon in Raiders and the dagger in TROS is that the talismon could could have been made 2,000+ years ago. There's no way to know its history. We also don't know of any reason why it wouldn't have been made. There's no significance to who made it at the point we encounter it in Raiders. Whomever made it is long dead. The dagger was made recently and by someone who might still be alive and significant to the story. Also, I said that what we're presented with in the movies is that all of the Sith are gone. Palpatine and Vader were the last. The fact that this dagger was made with Sith writing on it in the shape of the Death Star 2 wreckage after the last known Sith died is significant. Also, it points to something that is not commonly known to exist, the wayfinder. Someone who knows where the wayfinder is located is a significant person in Star Wars.

"I'm sure that the dagger in TROS is the one-and-only "mysterious and unexplained" thing in the entirety of cinematic history that you deem as "needs some light shed on it" or else decry "poor filmmaking". I mean, is there any other plot device in history you need some light shed on?"

Did I say that? No. I can't think of anything else right now, but even if I could, does it matter? I'm not married to any movies and feel like I have to defend their honor. If there are other movies that have this type of thing I'd call it out, no worries.

Maybe I should say that the dagger doesn't seem to make sense to me. Does that soothe your anger? Nothing shown on screen offers any explanation of why this dagger would ever exist. Maybe there's a reason for it and we'll get to read about it in a comic book someday. But TODAY, it's doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Space wizards and goofy gungans and space diners may seem fantastical but the old movies took seriously why things happened. Luke started to become a Jedi because he was told about his father and not because he touched a lightsaber and got a vague vision of people he's never met. The empire was established by years of plotting and making plans and moves to weaken the Jedi and the Republic. It didn't just show up completely established at the doorstep of the Republic like the First Order did. Why things happened matter to me. From what I've read, it means absolutely nothing at all to you. That explains a lot. Like I said, TROS is probably much, much more enjoyable if you do not care AT ALL about any details whatsoever.

    Your snarky sarcasm is immature.

    Hmm....

Yes, Ahsoka was confirmed to have survived (by Filoni when he wore the "Ahsoka lives" shirt). It was not confirmed how she survived. Even if Ahsoka managed to thwart Vader in their duel on Malchor, she was removed from that timeline (consequentially removed from her fight with Vader) when Ezra pulled her into the WBW. It's possible she only survived that encounter because Ezra pulled her into the WBW. We might never know if she would have died on Malachor, had Ezra not intervened.

The gateway to the WBW is somehow linked to Mortis, so even if the gateway on Lothal was destroyed, that may not be the last we see of it. I'm on the fence about whether or not I want to see more of the WBW. The existence of such a thing and the possibility of resetting or undoing history is a little too upper-handed for my liking. Buuuuuuut, one thing we might have to consider is that Disney loooooooooves remakes, resets, and reboots. :D

Back to Ahsoka's voice, and whether or not she "lives". I like Ahsoka, but she's turning into something of a poster child (IMO). She turned out to be such a successful and well received character. Given her popularity, and Filoni's current involvement with SW projects, I can see how she might miraculously survive and live to a ripe old age. :D
