    Short answer - no.

Long answer - no, unless he and Lucasfilm have a falling out, which doesn't seem incredibly likely as he's on good terms with Stephen Spielberg, which in turn is unlikely because Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy are incredibly trusting of one another.

But Spielberg hasn't made a decent film since E.T. in 1982

Spielberg and Howard are both great directors that are pretty much reliable at this stage. One a bit more talented then the other.

Haven't seen Schindler's List, so meh.

Saving Private Ryan is an absolutely awful fictional re-telling and hijacking of a TRUE British story about a group of British brothers who were all in the services during WW2 with only one brother surviving and the British army's quest to get the one surviving brother home to his parents. As usual, Hollywood and Spielberg changed actual documented facts and truth about the story and gave the US all the glory.

Jurassic Park is also an awful film, basically a film about man made dinosaurs such as the T-Rex which are bred from FROG DNA in a Jurassic Era themed theme park... despite ignoring the fact they actually lived in the Cretaceous Era. Strange that. The velociraptors in it are made to be larger than humans, but in reality, they were no bigger than farmyard chickens.

The first Harry Potter film was going to be directed by Spielberg, and he wanted Macaulay Culkin to play the British schoolboy wizard Harry Potter. Luckily, J.K. Rowling objected and refused to allow Spielberg to direct it.

I stand by my earlier comment. Spielberg hasn't made a good film since E.T. in 1982.

I'm curious - I'm guessing you're not a fan of Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, Minority Report or Munich either then?

I think Schindlers list is his best movie. Give it a try.

How on earth can you so ignorantly stand by your comment when you haven't seen Schindlers List? Furthermore, you say "so, meh" next to one of the greatest films ever made IMHO.

In regards to your points about Saving Private Ryan; does it really matter? The film was obviously inspired by true events but it was Spielbergs story - not a documentary.

You make some valid (but in my opinion unfair) points about Jurassic Park, but dude... it's fantasy. You're literally using a fan forum about Star Wars - a fictional Space Opera. Upgrading the story by changing minor things that most people won't know isn't a big deal - again, Jurassic Park wasn't trying to be a documentary. The fact that so many people enjoy and adore Jurassic Park makes me think you're just being a little bitter.

With Empire of the Sun, Bridge of Spies, Munich, Lincoln, to name a few it's safe to say Spielberg is a good director and that people/critics like his work. It's absolutely fine to have your opinion but to declare as fact that Steven Spielberg hasn't created anything good since E.T. is moronic.

Going back to TRB suggestions... I haven't listened to all the podcasts, but I wondered if you've covered anything on where LFL/Disney goes when there are no more exploitable/marketable story gaps or characters from the franchise for anthology movies. For example, would they risk a standalone film about a hitherto unknown situation or person(s) or do you think they'll stick to GFFA expanding tales with links to the trilogies?

The short answer: They'll make whatever will make a lot of money without bruising the brand. While it's a financial juggernaut they are still very much aware of the quality of the brand and it's fan base.
