So, rogue one is sort of a bridge between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. What questions in the OT must Rogue One answer for you?

    Ill go first...

    How did the Bothans die?

Clarification: The Bothans deaths took place after The Empire Strikes Back. In The Return of the Jedi, Mon Mothma states, in front of the War Council, "Many Bothans died to bring us this information."—referring to the second Death Star's location.

My bad... I was thinking it was the "FIRST" death star!
None the less, I still want to know how those Bothans died!

I second that. I'm curious to see how Ahsoka & co fit in the new Star Wars Universe, cause I frankly can't imagine Disney killing them off.

    Here's a legitimate question:

How did the Rebels learn of the existence of the Death Star plans during the time between Count Dooku's death and this movie? Who had the plans and where?

The best question ever must be: Who is the head of the Imperial Information Department? I wouldn't hire those dweebs even as Dewback dung cleaners seeing how those dorks not only failed to keep the first Death Star's plans a secret but the second one's as well!!! Those dudes must have been from Space Balls in order to let the rebels gain both secret informaton plans!

Unless it has been covered in Rebels or something (pardon my ignorance here), I would like to see Rogue One touching on where the X-wing comes from and how this, obviously mass-produced piece of industrial munitions became the backbone of the Rebel Alliance's space fleets. One wouldn't actually need to see Rebels protecting X-wings production lines from Imps. descending upon illegal Incom factories, (although that could be cool too), but some character information or background exposition around the X-wing would be very cool.

By the way, is Incom Corp. canon anymore, I wonder?

According to the "Lucas Notes" from 1977 the Death Star plans were transmitted by Rebel spies that had already been aboard the Death Star with Leia's ship supposedly being (the) one in transmission range.

According to the radio drama both X- and Y-wing fighters were older than the princess herself. According to the SW Sketchbook the Alliance wasn't financially well off so they somehow got these fighters at a discount. IIRC, Incom Corp. comes straight from this sketchbook / Joe Johnston.

While I consider this stuff as canon, I expect some of it will not survive December 2016.

Interesting. I was under the impression that Incom Corp. was a creation of the West End Games' Star Wars RPG. Nice find, @Lt. Hija :)

Most assuredly it's not a WEG creation but comes from original, reliable Lucasfilm sources. And we can safely conclude that Incom Corporation manufactures its X-wing fighters and T-16 Skyhoppers on Bestine.

The ROJ novelization (G-Canon because it's the novelization and doesn't contradict the films here) states that skyhoppers are of "Bestinian" origin.

    I don't know

I think John Knoll probably followed a little bit of that.

Basically, officially we have have..... this to work with

Where are those transmissions you intercepted, what have you done with those plans?
    - Darth Vader

Which leads me to believe that they were most likely on the DEATH STAR

Now wouldn't it be cool if they went to the DEATH STAR?

I think it will do what it needs to do. Fill the gap between the PT and OT so we never have to watch the PT again. :p

I don't need three movies to tell me about how Vader came to be.

I think it's possible the second non-trilogy film will fill the gap OT and ST and explain how the New Order came to be. The one thing I think that will be missing in Ep 7 is what the heck happened? We'll have some fillers, but it will be like ANH. They can use the new cast to tell that story.

According to screenplay / comic / novelization and Vader all the Rebel spies were shot or committed suicide with Leia being his last possible link to find the hidden Rebel base.

Frankly, I don't know. Lucas said he deliberately featured no hyperspace scene in the PT because he wanted to save that effect for ANH.

Along the same lines I'd feel that the actual Death Star should have its first appearance in ANH (but I admit that I would forget about this the moment we see an Imperial Star Destroyer entering a huge docking bay at the Death Star's equatorial ring. What a sight to behold this must be...;-).
