After the divise nature of TLJ I would love to see if SW fans are on the same page again now that SOLO has been released. Personally I am glad to say that this movie has succesfully rekindled my love for the franchise and I was wondering if other fans feel the same...

Hasn't rekindled my love as I loved TLJ but I also really liked Solo as it was something different/it's own thing.

I must be a freak of Star Wars nature, I liked both. :D

I voted 4 (although it's more like 3.8), yes (probably on Tuesday) and yes (now that I have seen Alden as Han and his interactions with Chewie).

Well, I didn't want to write 'not quite four', but we will see after I see it for the second time, it could get there.

I like this movie, 3.8/5. I won't be watching it in cinema again obly because I am short on money atm, but I would like to watch it again at some point for the details I have missed. And since I am genuinly interested about Qi'ra's ultimate fate, I would watch SOLO 2 if it ever comes out (which is unlikely).

*Copypasting my thoughts from the other thread

Just got out from the film, and it exeeded my expectations. Really enjoyed the vibe of the movie.
Alden was great as Han, he did a good job. I've seen some people saying that this is Chewbacca's movie, or even Lando's, but dunno about that. Don't get me wrong, all their scenes were great, but they were still in the background, especially Chewie (as expected, it's still an ensemble movie). All the other actors played their parts well. Loved Beckett.
The movie is also paced really fast (in particular the first half) but i thought it was less jarring than Rogue One (and also more energic, if it makes sense). There was only a time when i rolled my eyes (when Enfys says a thing to Han) but other than that, good.
I don't give rating to films, but i would sure like to see it again.

I went and saw this here in Australia with my dad yesterday and we both enjoyed it. I enjoyed it more than TLJ.

I voted a 3 and 4 but a 3.5 is what I would give it. It was a fun movie but I think I like Rogue One slightly better. It was nice to see a certain character on screen again.

Not the best. Not the worst. It's a fun Star Wars film that satisfies both the devoted fan and the average moviegoer, though I prefer TLJ.

Despite a few minor issues, I thought it was exactly what it needed to be: a fun, entertaining, nostalgia-filled movie that enhances the saga and fleshes out a backstory we've long dreamed about. For a non-fan, I'd call it a nice, forgettable night out at the cinema, and for hard-core fans it's a genuine treat. I'd rank it about 7th of the 10 Star Wars movies

...however, I was NOT a fan of the Maul cameo. I still think it's dumb that a dude that was cut in half and fell down an energy shaft somehow survives. People bash "Solo" as a cash grab, but to me that is the most egregious cash grab imaginable. The guy is dead --- don't bring him back 'cause people thought he was cool.

Solo did not do that, but Lucas in The Clone Wars.

this exceeded all of my expectation. i'd give it a 4.7, but rounded up.
it's a bit choppy sloppy, but given its production history, i was worried it would be an inscrutable mess and it wasn't ~ not by a long shot.
it's just a big stupid fun kick in the pants (just like Lost Shot). i feel the need to buy speeder toys. : D

I love me some Maul. I love him in Rebels. But yeah, Lucas screwed the pooch allowing him to somehow survive that encounter with Obi Wan. What was the purpose then of having Obi Wan cut him in half? Just have him push him over the ledge or something. Surviving that would make far more sense.
