    Because C-3PO looked different on both occasions (rusty battered grey metal in AOTC, dirty gold in ANH) and C-3PO had a memory wipe at the end of III which would erase all of C-3PO's memories and habits during his time in the service of the Lars family.

    Interesting wager. However, so far, people have only make bets for TWO out of the FOUR possible scenarios:
    1) Both droids appear (as per original post)
    2) None of them appear (completely opposite scenario)
    3) C3-PO appears. R2-D2 doesn't.
    4) R2-D2 appears. C3-PO doesn't.

    So, what's going to happen to the bets in scenarios 3 or 4? Nobody wins, I guess.

    Saying that they are with the Alderaan family is not necessarily sufficient to rule out a cameo of either of them. They belong to Senator Bail Organa who frequently travels back-and-forth to Coruscant. Teenager Leia also visited Lothal once. Moreover, in SW Rebels, Bail dared to send the droids in a mission to spy the new rebel cell led by Hera and Kanan.



    Still, I'm all for following the outcome of this wager.

    I guess if only one of them appears, then it's still a win for the people who are betting for the droids. :p But thanks for mentioning it.
