1 A New Hope (one of my first memories as a child was me, at the age of 4, watching a new hope on VHS with my parents, and from that moment every time I could I watched that VHS over and over again, it was just perfect to me )
2 Empire Strikes Back (such a good film)
3 The Force Awakens (it has issues, but it was a really fun ride)
4 Return of The Jedi/Revenge of the Sith (yes, they are on pair to me )
5 The Phantom Menace (I was the demograohic target of the movie when I saw it in thater since I was 8 years old, but I still hated Jar Jar Binks xD )
6 Attack of the Clones (in my opinion the less memorable out of the 7, at least the phantom menace had its moments, I found this one boring D: )

 

After much thought my rankings would be:
1. The Empire Strikes Back - 5/5 - The best story in the saga.
2. A New Hope - 4/5 - The most enjoyable original.
3. Revenge of the Sith 3.5/5 - Some stuff could have been handled better, script was better than screenplay.
4. The Phantom Menace - 3/5} - Can't fully decide between these two; rehash vs originality. Jar Jar doesn't really bother me.
5. The Force Awakens - 3.5/5}
6. Return of the Jedi - 3.5/5 - Not enough happened in the movie, too much silliness.
7. Attack of the Clones - 3/5 - Some deleted scenes should have remained, whilst others cut.

 

The Phantom Menace was every bit as similar to A New Hope as The Force Awakens was. The aesthetics of the movie is different, but the story has all the same similarities.

 

Whilst they both follow the same story beats, to me The Phantom Menace introduced new concepts and expanded upon the universe. We got aesthetically different planets, a more politically focused story, new Jedi, Sith and force lore, new technology etc. Whilst The Force Awakens had some original concepts, it relied to heavily upon nostalgia, and didn't expand upon the mythology enough to satisfy me. I would have also liked to see the ST head in a different direction genre-wise; instead of adventure or politics, we'd get a thriller or something like that. That's just my opinion though

I figured the prequels would be on the bottom of the list.

 

They are equally terrible to me. No reason to rank them. Maybe Rots is watchable if you dont ask questions.
I really doubt I will watch those movies ever again. After seeing TFA, a good star wars movie again, its just impossible to go back and listen to those blatant dialogues, and watch Hayden Christensen's terrible acting. All that in the front of an obviously fake CGI enviroment.
If im gonna watch the prequels again, it would be through RedLetterMedia's reviews. Now thats something I could watch forever. Imo those reviews are thousand times better and lot more entertaining than the prequels.

 

No worries I agree with you I got lost in the unknown regions trying to understand them, the OT made more sense, if I see HC getting a cameo role in one of the next 2 movies I'm walking.
