So curious if you have seen TROS 2 or more times how has it changed for you.

1st time pace was too fast
2nd time pace was just right

1st time didnt notice the 2nd transport in the desert
    2nd time did notice

1st time Rey flashback of parents seemed 2 fast and cut 2 quick
2nd time I noticed everyone including that actress is the assassin in Killing Eve

1st time the whole confrontation between Palpatine, Rey and Ben is just so much better. It even seemed to me that the Jedi voices were longer and clearer.

Overall it is far superior experience the 2nd watch

JJ definitely intended for this to be watched multiple times, the opening gets better every time I see it!

I'm seeing it my second time today. I should be able to focus a bit more on things I didn't the first time.

I'm gonna see it again as soon as I can. If it's possible to like it more than I did the first time, that would be cool.

I enjoyed it a lot more the second time. I like The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi more and I'm not sure the film works at a conclusion for all 9 films, but for Poe/Ben/Rey/Finn it's a pretty fantastic close to this story.

Something I thought about after seeing this film is I wish this was a Marvel story where we could see future stories with this crew. 3 films servicing old characters and new was asking for too much. Credit JJ for creating some compelling characters. How do you end a story that feels like it's just beginning?

I really enjoyed ROS the first time but definitely enjoyed it even more the 2nd! Having a sense of where it was going made it feel a little less rushed the 2nd time and there are definitely nuances I had missed (2nd transport, the multiple hints of force sensitivity for Finn).

I think ROS is incredibly re-watchable and am already excited to be able to see it again. The movie makes me smile!

I know a lot people loved TLJ, but I enjoyed ROS a LOT more.

The first time I was reacting strongly toward the intellectual side, just absorbing the information coming at me. That tended to override any emotional response. Second time was a more emotional viewing. Like the first time, I saw and heard it, the second time I felt it.

    I'm still a bit staggered and want to make sure I'm not over reacting in the thrill of the moment - but that final scene;
from the moment Rey ignites her saber to the end is just one of the most poignant and beautiful scenes to me. Especially when she says her family name, and the expression of knowing happiness on her face. Given the implications of the story it's just, to me there couldn't be a more perfect ending. Dude and Ben was the family that saved her and gave life to the Jedi. The entire Skywalker legacy. Man, this movie.

I loved it as well. It's a shame so many people are falling for the propaganda (from rival studios, those with different political beliefs and money hungry youtubers) and saying it's bad without even seeing it, or hatefully skipping through a cam rip. Luckily a group of us ignored all of that and judged the film properly.

Solid 8/10, made the trilogy worth it.

I also saw it for the second time today.

My first impression was there was far too much going on in the first 40 minutes of the film and I rated it a 6/10. On second viewing I was able to concentrate on the details and I enjoyed the film more although I will still give it a 6/10 for now.

For me JJ was trying to course correct the trilogy to his vision with TROS which made it suffer, I can't help but feel TROS story was too compressed and would have been better as a two part/film ending to the saga.

As I said in another post, there should have been a plan for this Trilogy from the start with JJ at least writing all three films. I'd have much rather Lucasfilm had taken more time with a three year gap between films and made a coherent story than what we have ended up with.

Still overall I enjoyed TROS but I can't help but feel this Trilogy should have been so much better especially with the set up from TFA.

Just got back and the second time I was able to settle in and be ready. I like it even more than I did already. I found that it still has a bit of pacing problems but it didn't distract me.

So much good action, a more clear sense of what was happening, the comedy is gold.. The Rey and Kylo dynamic is even better on second viewing. Sad that R2 was not really involved quite as much as 3PO. But overall to me it was still a satisfying movie and an end to the saga.

I will probably go see it one more time, maybe next week.

Pacing/editing did need to be better in the first half, but the second half really hooked me in for the ending. Maybe they'll polish up the edit later?

Watched twice, and the second view was better than the first one.

i saw it twice and likely won't be seeing it again.
i agree that the pacing was less problematic on second viewing since you're not having to process so much so quickly.

otherwise, the only difference between my two viewings was that i didn't cry at all the first time, but nearly did the second time because my sister was sobbing next to me. : o (

There's just so much going on, seeing it a second time let me take in more of everything that was happening. My third viewing was just savoring everything. Time to plan a fourth!

Can't speak as a two time viewer, but as a one time viewer I see the coherence of all three films with none of the contradictions with the previous films that the detractors harp on. I will be seeing TRoS at least one more time and then will be able to speak in or to the spirit of this multiple time viewing thread.

I’ll be seeing it a 2nd time this weekend, but a SW movie’s pacing is ALWAYS better after multiple viewings. There is just too much to take in on the first viewing as I missed a few little things I’ve seen mentioned in the threads here.

The first time I watched it, it flew and I felt I couldn't take the time to process certain things to the point I missed them. You blink and you'd miss something. The second time I was more relaxed and knew what to expect so I enjoyed it more. My feelings and rating (7/10) were the same. I liked the film. It kept me interested and I enjoyed my time. But I still think of what could have been with some proper planning. I still feel Luke wasn't treated well and to try and fix it with a small scene.. I don't know even though Rey mentions that Luke was looking for the wayfinder and Exogol. I still think Lucasfilm needs to hunker down and really see where things went wrong, what they want to do, but seriously consider what fans like.

Was cool the second time to learn that Mark Hamill voiced Boolio and was credited under the name Patrick Williams, after his two brothers.

My first reactions after my Thursday showing were a mix of mostly positive feelings with a few negative qualms. I thought it was really good and a step in the right direction after TLJ. My only complaints were a few story choices that I thought were awful and an extreme pacing problem.

But then I let the film stew in my mind for a few days. I rewatched TFA and TLJ. My opinion remained unchanged on the former but I grew to like the latter a lot more. I thought about ROS and found a lot of problems with it. Eventually, my mind changed to severe dislike. If anyone asked what I thought of the movie, I told them flat-out that I didn't like it.

I saw it again yesterday and I think I'm finally settling on it being just okay. There's a ton of issues I have with it still but some, such as the pacing problem, were almost nonexistent. Maybe it was because I knew what the general flow of the story was going to be and I adjusted myself accordingly, but who knows.
