I've been wondering about the names also. Filoni and Co. could have just liked the sound of them, but it would be awesome if there was symbolic significance. In the Old Testament, Ephraim was the son of Joseph. Joseph, the 11th son of Israel (aka Jacob) was a tribal patriarch along with his 11 brothers. But you never read about "the tribe of Joseph" in scripture. That's because his sons, Ephraim and Manasseh were elevated in their inheritence. They were each given half of Joseph's tribe and thus you have reference to the half-tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh in the Bible. So Ephraim had his own tribe. Pretty cool. Not to mention that the first king of the northern Kingdom of Israel (Jereboam) was descended from Ephraim. Interestingly enough, Ephraim had a son named Ezer. Now I know it's not Ezra (which is also the name of a significant Biblical prophet), but it's close enough to mention I think. More significance though belongs to the fact that Joshua (an Old Testament forerunner to Jesus Christ in the Bible, pointing to God's deliverence and hope for salvation) was a descendent of Ephraim (not descended from Ezer, but still noteworthy). In the book of Joshua, Joshua (Moses' successor) leads the people of Israel in the conquering of Canaan, fulfilling God's promise of a land given to them as a possession among the people of Israel. Maybe we will see a character like Joshua in the Sequel Trulogy? I hope so. Maybe the son of Ezra (symbolic Joshua) will pick up the mantle after Luke (symbolic Moses) and conquer the Empire and the Sith. Pure speculation, but I like the concept.

Oh man! I think we're on to something here! And this also reminds me of the Joseph Campbell Hero's Journey (as most of us fans know, the classic Hero's Journey is pretty basic Star Wars 101). I took a gander at the Campbell Monomyth Wikipedia page, and the last third "The Return," has some interesting hints at what we may be seeing in the ST. Just a taste:

We thought the journey is encapsulated in just one movie or trilogy, but really the whole saga is the journey

    "Separation" is the prequel trilogy
    "Initiation" is the original trilogy
    and...
    "Return" is the sequels

And of course, I'm completely open to this just being the crazy ranting of a bored-at-work Star Wars fan

Stupid tactical move by Pinky Fett and the gang to blow up the TIE prototype at the parade. The group should have used a remote control detonator to blow the TIE up during takeoff. That way the Empire would have wasted money and time trying to find the design flaw that caused it. Instead, now the Empire is investing time and money into hunting down the saboteurs.

What if Ezra and Sabine have a daughter and somehow they are incorporated into the new trilogy?
    From

    Meaning & History
Feminine form of Sabinus, a Roman cognomen meaning "Sabine" in Latin. The Sabines were an ancient people who lived in central Italy, their lands eventually taken over by the Romans after several wars. According to legend, the Romans abducted several Sabine women during a raid, and when the men came to rescue them, the women were able to make peace between the two groups.

Some are speculating that Oscar Isaac is the son of Ezra and Sabine.

Why not Sabina looks kinda *hot* and you can clearly see that Ezra feels addicted to her.

One reason why they made Sabine a juvenile instead of an adult is so She and Ezra can form a special relationship. The scene at the beginning when she stops to watch Ezra train with Kanan only solidifies it for me. There will be a tie into The Force Awakens, but we probably will not know it until the end of the Rebels series, unless someone is named Bridger in the movie.

I would say that she seems kinda taken with him as well. At the moment, it seems more like Padme to Anakin in TPM, but... I think it will grow.

The problem with Rebels is that every episode I watch is the best episode so far...

Okay this ep got passed over because so much happened in the next one. No one really focused in on the voices Ezra heard in his outpost home and later in his house. I think he is using psychometry. A jedi power where you can see what happened around a object . Those voices weren't just memories.
