Sorry to be late to this thread, saw the trailer yesterday at work & the guys their went crazy after seeing it I forgot how many rebels fans are there, & we have the best admiral on the galactic empire back, Thrawn!!!! I'm glad we have both Mikkelsen brothers in another star wars journey.

 

Who would've trained him with no one from the academy?

 

No one. The Skyhopper he used to fly had similar controls to the X-Wing.

Looks similar to that Separatist asteroid base in The Clone Wars.

 

I hope they make Darth Revan canon in season 3

Season 3 is going to be awesome!! I can't wait. I wondered how they were going to top Season 2 villainwise. I have never read Thrawn's books but I recognized him right away....thanks to Bluestreaking. Thrawn Is going to put the hammer down on the Rebels. I sense the Theme in S3 is Knowing your Enemy. Thrawn is here to learn the Rebels and Kannan and Ezra are trying to learn how to defeat the Sith. This feels like they are going to bring the story to an epic climax very soon. I wonder if Ezra and Kannan Learn about the Chosen One Prophecy or find Obi-Wan.

 

I know that but that doesn't give him training in flying in formation, rules of engagement, squad based tactics, military communication protocol, etc

 

Maybe he was preparing for the Academy with some holodiscs and handbooks.

 

Yeah that's my thought, too, but I remember hearing how ridiculous it is that, even though he has a natural ability, he mastered the equivalent of being able to fly a basic helicopter and then immediately jumping into A n F-35

Some say the face features on that Green Ghost reminded them of Pure Blood Sith....But the green Mist is more in the direction for being connected to Dathomir and Force Magic....We have to wait again.

 

Good call. I was so focused on the art and the blue man himself, that I didn't think to look out the windows any of the 3 times I watched the trailer.

I think my brain just assumed he was in space.

I hope Thrawn is in it much. I hope he is more like Vader last season, comes in early to wreck blast, and then goes on his way. I love Thrawn, and don't want to see this group of Rebels beat him.

 

I highly doubt Thrawn is getting killed off at the end of the season. They would be insane to do that, they know how beloved he is by the fandom. Anybody who spends even a little time in fandom learns about certain Legends characters, and Thrawn is definitely one of them. Introducing him only to kill him off and not leave him alive to be a thorn in the Rebellion and New Republic's side would be madness. Rebels' ratings would tank.

That said, I think Thrawn does need to be taken out of the picture somehow. Unless you go with the idea that he was off in Wild Space at Palpatine's behest like in Legends for the OT, it's a little hard to justify his absence. Like, why wouldn't Palpatine have ordered Thrawn to take command of the Battle of Endor just to make sure that he had all of his ducks in a row?

I think this confirms who precisely the unnamed fleet admiral from "Bloodlines" is. And who Benicio del Toro is playing.

 

Noticed this as well. There's also a shot of Ezra & Maul on what appears to be Dathomir, so it's very likely these two scenes are from the same episode/episode arc.

 

We do hear Vader's breathing and Ezra call out to Ahsoka, or call her name at least.

 

It almost looks like he's in The Jedi Temple .

 

Dooku got the voodoo more than once.

Somehow I don't think the Rebels are escaping the inevitable disaster ahead. We have to assume(Unless proven otherwise) By the time of A New Hope Kannan and Ezra are dead. I have a feeling Rebels will not end happy but rather in tragedy. Having Thrawn bringing the crew of the Ghost to their knees would actually be awesome.
