I thought it was confirmed that this is the final season of Rebels, then they are going another direction with a new series?

I really hope it is because they need to wrap up these characters before some of these story lines start messing with the OT. All of the Jedi besides Obi-wan and Yoda need to be dead so that Luke's story is not cheapened. If Ezra turns and goes missing with Maul or something I don't know if that would bother me too much but there cant be Jedi who want to fight against the Empire that just messes with the OT story too much for me. I'm interested to see how and why they bring Thrawn in. Is he going to be living and serving the Emperor during the OT? Based on the Aftermath novels he doesn't survive past the OT if he does even survive to the OT.

IIRC: It was published as the official end of Maul's TCW arc.
So, yes.... Dooku getting pwned Talzin'd again is still canon.

Back when TCW was announced in 2007 I remember Dave filoni and all saying that the plan was to produce several seasons of one show and then build on it to create another show and so on with each series having around 3-5 seasons which should be enough for 100 + episodes

So basically, if they keep with that format, they can finish Rebels with five seasons, ending during or right after Episode IX's theater duration.

It would be interesting if they end Rebels with season 3 and then a new show is set after ROTJ possibly detailing out the Aftermath novel stories. That would be cool to see.

I don't think they would adapt any sort of new-canon novels because then it would basically be like a comic book of sorts .

I would settle for comic adaptations of the novels too.

I don't think it would ever happen because they're going for a shared original universe that INCLUDES other media as an extension .

It's interesting that Ezra seems to be interested in the darkside and is involved in an explosion at the end of the trailer.....He has blue eyes too. Hmmmm When will the last episode of season 3 air? Before December 2017?

Not confirmed. Filoni wants 6-7 seasons. The ratings are pretty low (only 600,000 or so watch it), but as long as that stays stable, I think they won't cancel it. They'd run the show at a loss, for merchandising and to create new lifelong fans.

They really just have to not be jedi. Maz Kanada shows that there are other force users roaming about.

I'd love this. They must be saving the 5-30 ABY era for something.

I really hope it doesn't go for much longer. I don't want anything interfering with the OT story line. It will be awesome to see some stuff take place between ROTJ and TFA eventually. I will definitely be excited about that.

Will DARTH Maul taint Ezra to the point of starting his own force-user club?

Like Snoke did with Kylo and his Mandalorian-cosplay buddies?

I bet Maul ends up sacrificing himself to turn Ezra further as in he kills kanan and himself and Ezra goes crazy .

We've always assumed that when Obi-Wan says "That boy is our last hope" and Yoda replies "No, there is another" that he was talking about Leia. But, we are now seeing from Life Debt, Bloodlines, and TFA that Leia never really trained.

It would make it pretty easy for that "other" Yoda was referencing to be Ezra or Kanaan. Likely Ezra, as I explain below. At first I was in the camp that thinks all of the Ghost crew would have to die, but now I'm not so sure. Yoda, knew about them but it is completely likely that Obi-Wan did not, whereas Obi-Wan definitely did know about Leia. This could actually fix one of those logical errors that always bothered the fans. Obi-Wan and Yoda both knew about Luke's twin, but already decided that she wasn't the one to take up the mantle of the Jedi.

I was a bit taken aback when Maul pushes Kanaan out of the airlock. Makes me think that Kanaan is going to be the Maul killer at the end of it all.

Try this on for size. Ghost crew breaks up and goes their own way, even if they don't all die.

Kanaan sacrifices himself for Ezra, Ezra is horrified by the thought that he can't control his dark side urges, and steps away from the Jedi path and is making a living as some sort of anonymous rogue during the events of the OT. It leaves it open for the story group to let him live out his life or to bring him back in at some later time without messing with the OT. In the future, watching that scene, we will always make the connection to Ezra, and not Leia. Won't matter to the casual fan but fixes it for us nerds.

On another note, no inquisitors in Season 3 from the look of it.
    --- Double Post Merged, Jul 18, 2016, Original Post Date: Jul 18, 2016 ---

Nah, Maul is not one to sacrifice himself for a higher calling or greater purpose.

From what I get Ezra is comitted to find some kind of way aka hidden forbidden knowledge whatever the costs....So if Maul also sees Ezras will to destroy the Sith his own comittment will be strenghtened too.

I dont see Ezra as a victim but someone who tries to push all the limits because he has understood that he has to. Maybe its his destiny to find a third way. And that because he is the only one that can...and only him that should. Because we have Luke some years later.

Maybe its the Force telling us that the two Force-Factions are obsolete....Or its just desperate times were the last Force-Users trying to find new radical ways to break the stalemate of what they know.
