The episode was great. I liked the return of Dathomir. I want Obi Wan to appear but I am afraid that the rebels crew might call him by his name even though he said that he hasn't gone by the name Obi Wan for a while (long before Luke was born)

They might just go the route of Master Kenobi. Kanan and Ezra would address him as Master, like Yoda. @Obiwonallmygames said it correct when Maul calls him Kenobi, I think will be how they steer away from Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan feature in season 3 will be tread lightly i would think. To me he would be only apart of the season finale. This is prolly where the Rebel crew will be separated and suffer a striking blow to them. Hera/Zeb/Rex/Chopper/Kallus(since he's FULCRUM) will be ones that will lose the base to thrawn(maybe Sabine will be apart of it as well). Kanan/Ezra/Sabine/Maul with Obi/maybe Vader/maybe Ahsoka will be the final duel. Obi-Wan will come in out of the blue to help Kanan/Ezra/Ahsoka and will fight Maul and the possibility of Vader(not stressing it but can be added and this is where Vader can take serious damage from Obi/Kanan/Ahsoka and Ezra fights Maul which Maul get Ezra to use his anger against him. Its NOW going in the right path(cant say correct) but its something i think can happen. I hope they use him well...

I agree with just calling him Kenobi. Seems like a simple route to avoid saying "obi-wan". I can't see Vader in the duel. Doesn't he describe obi-wan as a presence he has not felt in a long time? Also, why would Vader learn that Ben is on Tatooine, duel him and then just leave him alone?

Mmm...yeah, that was so much fun to watch! Great stuff.

I'm quite enjoying the continuing portrayal of Maul. It's just excellent; Sam Witwer does "venomous" splendidly. ...I looked him up, I wasn't previously aware that he's also the voice of Old Palpy– that's perfect, isn't it?

    Ooooohh- DarkSaber.
...From the murmurings, it sounds as if Sabine is slated for some kind of Mandalorian leadership. She's going to be a focal point character for the latter part of this season, right? ...(I'm glad she has grown on me a good deal since the beginning.)

I think it'd be an interesting twist, especially at this point, to NOT feature Kenobi in this season of 'Rebels', and to keep him active and aware, but in the peripheral shadows for a while, –just to tease us. ...Eventually, Ezra can irreverently just refer to him as "Old Benny".

I hope the latter part of season 3 keeps with the pace.

He did Palpy in the force unleashed. He was the main character for that and told lucasarts that he does pretty good Palpy. They agreed enough that he got that role too :)

Show us Kenobi, I hate being teased.

What does Maul mean when he says, "It ends where it began. A desert planet with twin suns".?
I know he's referring to Tatooine and if he is meaning the first encounter with Qui-Gon in TPM, then that wouldn't make sense because I don't think he knew Kenobi was there, due to the fact that he remained on the ship for most of their visit. Am I missing or forgetting something from TCW?

I just remembered some other theory that Vader and Obi-Wan could of fought again just cause the distance between ROJT and ANH but i kno that wouldnt happen in Rebels. Why would they fight again before ANH and R1. Thats why the theory of Vader in the baca tank in R1 doesnt make sense cause there is no one who is up to par with him unless its an Obi-Wan or Ahsoka. the last duel in season 2 is too far for vader to be in the tank. Thats why having Kenobi in season 3 is gonna be handled so carefully that I dont think we see him til the end. Really im scared to see it cause of Maul. Its hard to just know that Vader knows about kanan/Ezra/Ahsoka and not care about them throughout the series. I can see Obi-Wan wander off tattooine just for a moment though, the whole having a Kenobi anthology is not plausable cause of him watching over Luke. Putting him in Rebels is BIG to the fact his plays a major role in this time frame. Rebels find Master Kenobi, a battle of OB/Maul, Rebels crew suffers a hardful defeat but with a sight of telling Leia that Obi-Wan lives, which ties in R1.

We all agree that Luke will never be mentioned in anything that doesnt involve the OT. That Vader has to do something about Kanan/Ezra/Maul. Obi-Wan is now the focal point of Rebels with introducing the Death Star build. Thrawn will destroy Chopper base. and the Sabine/Satine/Kenobi theory is still sketchy to me. but Sabine/Erza theory can play out. I dont see them going in the route of Kenobi having a child when he was committed to being a Jedi Knight.

I agree, I mean I can see it more from what Daisy Ridley said about seeing Ep VII but to connect Sabine as the Rey's mother that came out of nowhere but we never know until we know.

    1) That's Vader in the tank. An eagle eyed viewer noticed a limbless anakin in a behind the scenes featurette. It makes sense for him to be in there because he is a quadruple amputee covered in 3rd degree burns.

    2) I can see a standalone Kenobi if it is anything like the novel...."Kenobi". Just make it a smaller scale western that takes place entirely on tatooine

    3) Leia dad, Bail Organa, knows that Kenobi is watching over Luke on Tatoonine. We don't need the rebels to have an adventure for that knowledge to get to Leia.

    4) I don't agree. Luke is clearly the key to defeating the sith. Well, clear to us, not to the rebels.

I've been complaining about Harloff since the AMC movie talk days. I'm happy everyone finally sees what I see. I think he reads through the books way too fast because he never has anything of substance to say. Listen to Campea, Napzak,Perri, and even Tiff, talk about the books and what they say are relevant to the literature. I have nothing against him personally. I love Jedi Council, I watch it every Thursday. Harloff's a great guy but he reads everything Star Wars (novels and comics) yet comes up with some of the most wacky theories. I understand that he is just having fun but did anyone see the Jedi Council when Justin Bolger came on (and i know Harloff got him on the show ). The way he broke down the TFA visual dictionary and the gems in that book he outlined made me grab my copy and read it again. Harloff must be doing something good because the publishers send him advance copies of the SW books. He also gets great interviews ( Pablo, Luceno, Grey) yet he ask the worst questions or most vague questions imaginable. I guess his experience in the industry and his enthusiasm for Star Wars got him that host position. Anywho how did he get the idea that OB1 is Rey's grandchild from watching Rebels? someone please enlighten me HAHA

I don't know how anyone could think that Sabine is Satine's daughter. Didn't Gar Saxon say, in Imperial Supercommandos, that Sabine's mother is alive, supporting the Empire, and looking for Sabine?

I thought with the announcement of Katee Sackhoff returning to voice Bo-Katan that Sabine was going to be Bo-Katan's daughter.

Well they have to work that into the whole story. What does the Rebels have for a storyline that wont connect Obi-Wan. Youre right about Bail knowing about Obi-Wan its just why mention Kenobi in Rebels if it he doesnt matter to them since Bail does know. Leia finds out either thru her father or some drastic that happens to the Rebel crew.

With Kenobi anthology, there isnt alot at stake for him in a film tho. just a hermit gracing the planet of tatooine watching over Luke? IDK, i think thats why they backed up his story and bumped up the Han and Bobo films.

As for Luke, I dont want them to input him or even speak of his name in Rebels.

The Rebels storyarc now falls on Kenobi of sorts. Why mention him and not have him actually shown in Rebels. I can see him as the last image we see in the finale.

Why would Vader be in the tank in R1 when its so close to ANH? Is it fact that it is him? Even when he is in his lil chamber pot we only get a glimpse of him with his helmet off. In LOTS he destroys everything without even being damage.

Its alot of complex situation that can happen. we have to wait and see.

Vader is in the tank because his suit needs repair. At the very least we know ahsoka necessitated some time out of the suit because she chopped half the mask off. Unless they just have a room of extra parts like grievous did on clone wars.

In TPM he acted like he had been waiting forever to actually get to fight the Jedi. On tatooine was where he actually began his career so to speak.

Really amazing episode!!! I know many have been complaining about the previous ones as fillers, but come on, it was basically the build-up to get to this one. I actually applauded when it finished!

Believe me: I am a big Han/Leia fan and I haven't read that one either - that's one of the reasons I'm glad certain aspects of the old Legends are gone for good. (The few bits I read it was corny and cheesy and ew - not really!) But the good part of it was to keep the planet and the Nightsisters concept.

It could go either way - perhaps we will have the final showdown between Maul vs Kenobi for good, so that's why we would not have this rogue Dark side user roaming around the galaxy by the time our Main A-Team appears on scene OR the Rebels get in time to prevent him to attack Kenobi.

I am quite partial to the first one, because in this case Kenobi would have a really good reason to survive and finish the Dathomirian, so he can prevent Maul from realising there is another strong Force-sensitive farm boy around that could become a good apprentice.

So true. And it makes sense both Ezra and Kanan think that Obi-Wan Kenobi is the key, not Luke. For starters, they do not know Luke, they are not aware that Luke is the son of Anakin Skywalker - and I'm not 100% they are aware Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. (From what I recall from "Twilight of the Apprentice", Ahsoka had this exchange of words with Vader, but not sure Ezra heard 100%).

Interesting. From what I recall, they never mentioned who were Korkie's parents, they only said he was Satine's nephew.

I agree - he would not be necessary, maybe a random passing cameo of him picking up some power converters at Tosche Station and bumping into Chopper and Sabine or something like that.

That is a valid concern, but as @Obiwonallmygames mentioned, Maul used to call him "Kenobi" and that was what was written with blood in Mandalorian on the cave, wasn't it?

    +1000

I want to see Ahsoka fighting Maul and how she and Captain Rex escaped Order 66! I know the book "Ahsoka" gives some snippets out of that story, but seeing that in animation would be superb!!

What @Obiwonallmygames said, he started fighting the Jedi right there in Tatooine.

    Indeed!!

I see it as a smaller version of what the meditation chamber is. It may just be something he does for maintenance. I guess we will find out soon.

I'm hoping it is Vader in the tank and the kneeling figure is the new Grand Inquisitor. Snoke.
