Agree, we will find out soon. Please if you wish to mention this topic on this thread, make it relevant for the episode being discussed. Same as with the Rey Kenobi theory. The main focus of this thread is the "Visions and Voices" episode of Rebels Season 3.

As has been said, he could just call him "Kenobi," but even if not, I don't know why everyone gets so legalistic about it - Kenobi has been shown time and time again to say whatever he needs to make his point...so he would obviously tell Luke that, even if he was called that two days before, just to make a point. But I hope they go the "Kenobi" route myself to avoid the complaining.

It starts on Tatooine when he fights Qui-Gon the first time, but gets away. It continues on Naboo where Maul tracks them down again and kills Qui-Gon, but gets bisected by Kenobi. He didn't have to see Kenobi on Tatooine for it not to be connected.

Yep. This is pretty much kills the Satine theory.

I have a feeling they will go with a Kenobi/Maul duel, with the Rebels either not involved at all, or only as spectators, and never actually interact with him, to maintain some story separation. However, I think it would actually be better for the Rebels to track him down and take care of him themselves - this IS a show about the Ghost crew, not The Clone Wars in Sheep's Clothing. Don't get me wrong, I love that it is there, but think it is too heavily TCW focused in many ways.

I've never been a fan of the Nightsisters, and for one am glad to see them finally gone for good (most likely). I know I am a minority in that feeling, and that is okay. I get the appeal, its just not my fav. That said, bringing them back for this fit with the previous stories, and was a fitting way to end their run, while officially bringing them into Rebels storyline and tying together Maul's history. Well done, even if they aren't my preference.

One of my favorite things in this episode was actually when Kanan insinuated that Ezra wasn't being duped by Maul as much as it appeared - showing that even though Ezra has struggled this season, he still has a plan when it comes to Maul.

This has been my only real gripe with this show.

Wrap it up, and move us closer to the Rogue One timeline already, Filoni!

    Maybe he "misremembered" THIS: [IMG]

Fantastic Episode. Maul just makes this series click... his TPM demise was shortsighted.
His return; no matter how contrived, has been brilliant.

Both shows are better because he's in there wreaking his own brand of havoc.

I'm glad the nightsisters returned, It's interesting what became of them after TCW.

My guess is that both that episode from The Clone Wars ("Massacre") as well as what happened in the comic "Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir # 4" where Sidious, Dooku and Grievous fight Maul, the Nightbrothers and Mother Talkin - when Grievous kills the latter for good - could be the two occasions where the Separatists led by Sidious - basically the Empire years later - killed everyone in Dathomir.

My guess is that Sabine's mother is Rook Kast - she was with Gar Saxon fighting under Maul's orders and looks quite like Sabine:

With the Dark Saber in Sabine's possession will there be a united Madalore going forward, wonder if that will play any role in the R1.

My only real nitpick with the episode is fanboy related, so it barely counts... but I wish that Talzin's ghost was one of them that appeared. I'm holding out hope for Ventress returning to join Maul, help him essence transfer to a new clone body and then rebuild the Night-Clans from scratch.... with Mother T as their guide. This idea is so deliciously dark that it makes me drool Sith spit inside my mask.

Seeing as how Satine has been dead for 17 years Rey would be at least 53 in the Force Awakens.

I've often had pleasant dreams of that 1999 Vanity Fair two-page photo as a child.

Agree. The more force users the better. If Lando, Hondo, and Maul can return, surely Filoni can write Talzin back into the script?

    Sabine = Obi-Wan’s daughter = Rey’s mother – now THAT’S a level of stupid I haven’t heard in a looooong time.

Seriously, this is worse than Kanan = Donnie Yen or Ezra = Kylo Ren. Rey’s mom is not going to be a cartoon character.

Sabine’s story arc is Mandalorian centric. We already know Katee Sackhoff is coming back as Bo-Katan. We know Bo-Katan was pretty close with Pre Vizsla (House Vizsla) who was leader of Death Watch and owner of that darksabre Sabine nabbed at the end there. Wouldn’t it make way more sense if those two are her parents? That would make Satine her aunt if that’s any consolation.

Anyway, I was pretty mixed on this episode. The Mandalorian arc was one of my favorites from TCW, so I was glad to see that bit of callback. But the Nightsisters arc was very VERY low for me. Spells and potions and zombies – I just don’t like this crap in Star Wars and didn’t appreciate being reminded all that stuff is canon. I seem to be in the minority though. I was hoping for way more from all the hype. Oh well, there’s always next episode :(

Very curious about the Nightsister spirits. We known that only light side users can become Force Ghosts. When Hidalgo was asked about thsi, he said that the Nightsister spirits are like the Nightsister zombies in "Massacre". Does this mean they lack individual personalities?

Yoda spoke with the "ghost" of Darth Bane in the last season of TCW. So there's that.

Nightsister green fart cloud magic can do whatever they want it to. It pretty much defies explanation.

Yoda calls that out as an illusion and the Priestesses state that they created all the illusions.

Don't forget that brain worms can make zombies too, and there are godzilla monsters in star wars.

To be fair, doesn't the force also do what it likes and defies explanations?

I always thought that "only light siders can achieve an afterlife" was a cop-out in light of Bane's ghost and the nightsisters ghost. Did the preistess really say that they made the Bane illusion? I'll have to rewatch it. I thought they were talking about dark yoda.

New canon FINALLY blasted her into oblivion? Interesting.

Guess its time for a new and MORE clouded "Return of the Dathomir Clans" dream...

Brain parasites are a thing that really exist though. Going one further and having them control someone’s actions is within reason for a faraway galaxy. The blue whale can be the size of a ten story building. An animal that’s ten times larger than that isn’t wholly irrational.

Willing together fully functional robot legs out of nothing but spare parts and green smoke? I don’t know what to do with that. If this was Harry Potter and magic was all over the place, then maybe I’d be a little more forgiving.

Yeah, this franchise has been a little fast and loose with exactly what the Force can or can’t do at any given point. But there’s at least some semblance of rules and limitations. Talzin can make things appear out of thin air. How? And why would chanting and doing a little dance help with that? I just can’t make that leap, man. My own shortcoming I’m sure.

It seemed to me like one of the writers had an idea for a totally different show that never took off. So they found a way to shoehorn the premise into this one. It just doesn’t fit for me. I’m a contention doofus though, so what do I know?
