I'm glad Sabine got the darksaber.

    It sure does.
What is it copping out of? It also makes thematic sense to me for darksiders to be unable to achieve an afterlife. The Sith cling to their bodies because they fear dying, failing to realize that the path to immortality is to let go of one's body. Immortality has to be earned, not aquired. This is reflected in Vader becoming a cyborg and Palpatine drawing on the darkside to the point that his skull cracks (hence the forehead crease). Also,as I'm going to address below, Bane is an illusion.
After Bane dissappears, the priestesses say, "all of your trials up to this point have been of our making."

Ghosts of Korriban must've inspired the writers for TCW and Rebels. Or something.

Or was it called Ghosts of the Sith? I know it was an Insider short.

I'm not familiar with this insider short, but I know that Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith is where Korriban first appeared and that the ghost of Freedon Nadd is a major character in the events that occur on Korriban.

There were ghosts of the four great Sith Lords in KotOR with Revan.

i just pretend he went over the side without getting cut in half and we don't really know what happened.

    ~ * ~

i've been thinking on the Satine portrait for a while and can't figure any connection beyond her being Kenobi's spiritual love ~ and since he's obsessed with Kenobi, he's gathered these talismans. i know people want "deep" meaning, but sometimes a thing is just a thing (and in Star Wars that thing is often just fan service). there's no deep meaningful reason we had blue milk on the counter in Rogue One (OH EM GEE they must be related to Lars and Beru!) hahaha

so yeah, i'm not feeling a lurking secret underneath this ~ yet.

I find it interesting that Maul had a portrait of the Dutchess (if that was indeed her) in his hideout with the darksaber placed in front of the portrait. Knowing Kenobi's ties to the Dutchess, I wonder if Maul's original intention was to show Kenobi the weapon to cause emotional pain, weakening him in the process. Of course, his plan cannot take place since Sabine took the darksaber.

    1) This never bothered me much cause I was an old EU junkie. There was precedent in another dark jedi being cut in half and surviving named.....Maw! Also a lot of KOTOR stuff had messed up bodies being kept alive through the power of the darkside.

    2) Excellent point FN-32....Well, I'm not going to call you that. Let's see... FN... I'm going to call you Finn. How about that?

Yeah, the Dark Side sustaining a guy with half a body is not the strangest ability that has ever appeared in the history of Star Wars. I think that honor belongs to Palpatine using Force Lighting to create freaking wormholes.

I forgot about that. As much as I loved the old EU, it had an issue of constantly "kicking it up to 11".

That's "D&D epic-level Wizard" crap right there. And didn't Nomi Sunrider and a bunch of other Jedi basically create a wall of pure Light Side energy to incinerate a bunch of Dark Jedi once?
