Yeah indeed, it's sad it had to come to this.

I feel like, if he did, it was a passing disturbance. But Luke is probably too strong in the Force not to have felt something.

Still wondering what Kenobi did with Maul's body.

On a pyre? Left to the sun and sands?

Cut up and dried out like jerky.

    Food is scarce on Tatooine

I had to go back to the episode and I liked how there was some similarities with Kanan's duel with Maul. The brevity, the changing of stances, the focusing on footwork.

Yep, I thought it would have lasted at least 2 mins 309 secs, I'm glad he went with the downward strike this time, he found the last in TPM didn't work, taking out the weapon & opponent in one strike.

If Obi-wan had followed up with another slash with his blade in the TPM instead of kicking Maul in the chest the whole thing could have been over a lot quicker.

As far as Obi-wan saying Ezra is not where he should be, did his trip to Tatooine delay the attack on Lothal. It's tough with Star Wars time to have any idea how long he was gone. A day a week whatever but Hera said he was important. Did he hold up the whole attack?

Here a thought that hit my head (as I was watching the scene for the n-th time) (obi-wan 4)

The more I see that duel, the more I think: Ben purposely provoked that. He did not foreseen, nor have a late vision of Maul's attack, no : he decided to do exactly this way. Let's see:
Maul says "... someone". Ben ignites his saber, takes his first stance (the same in front of Grievous on Utapau : the saber handled horizontally in the right hand above his shoulder, the left hand with two fingers pointed toward the opponent - Ataro or Soresu ??). Then a quick second stance, saber handled with two hands in front of him. Then the Qui Gon's stance, you get it? well, watch carefully: Ben just takes firmly the Qui Gon's stance. Passing to Maul: his eyes widen, as if he was kind of surprised, he recognizes the stance, seems kind of nervous, doesn't he? his trampling feet confirm that. Then back to Obi Wan: look at his eyes as he frowns: the bait seems to work properly. Passing to Maul: here we are, a cat ready to fight "hey old man! I once killed the one who took this stance, uh uh, it's so easy, I'll do the same, and I'll get you the same manner I got the other!". Back to Obi: frowns more, but quiet, self control, master of the situation : the trap is now working for sure. Back to Maul: he attacks the way he attacked Qui Gon.
I say : ol'Masta'Ben had all prepared in advance. Many of us agree: he has grown, he has learnt from Qui Gon's fate. Not Maul. Maul believed he was launching a fatal attack, in fact, he was just running right into the trap.
Left click. Right click. And tchac.
Game Over. Even Maul is surprised by the move, just before he realizes both his lightsaber and is chest are sliced. No more hope.
I say this was a perfect trap, a master chess & mate, prepared and planned.

    Probability of that ?

Tatooine haves 3 moons. The third was on vacation back in '77.

Yes, I'm aware of this; I was just explaining one of the reasons perhaps as to why we saw twin moons (as opposed to say one or three of the moons) in the episode - to have that dichotomy between the twin Suns, no doubt.

It was all ho hum so so until Kenobi and Maul met. Then I was thinking Disney made them set up this contrived episode just to have Obi Wan Kenobi in the trailers and was expecting another long duel. Then it was over in three strokes and I have to admit that it was really well done and a good, and unexpected for me at least, send off for Maul. Since the rest of the episode only existed to set up those few seconds nothing of worth happened other than seeing yet another example of how unsuitable Ezra is to be given any position of responsibility in the rebellion. Rating: 80 seconds of Kenobi Maul 10/10. Other 20 minutes 1/10.

Finally, finally, FINALLY caught up with Rebels! I really enjoyed this episode, and the last five minutes were by far some of the best scenes Rebels has ever done.

Agreed! As a fan of the fight scene's I would have liked a more, drawn out fight. But the brevity of this fight was the best option for everyone involved and I accept and respect that. And it was still really cool regardless.

I'm sure someone already mentioned this already, but according to Rebels Recon, it's more of Obi-Wan actually being wrong than "Luke is the real chosen one"

Yeah it should have been a two-parter as well. Heck, I would've accepted it being a three parter with the season finale - it would have been a nice counterbalance to the grand fighting to be on this desolate, intimate journey to find Obi-Wan for help or something.

Yes to all of the above! Sorry, I quoted your stuff because you said everything I like about the episode before I said it...so...

The only other thing I kinda wished happened would be that Kanan went out to look for Maul instead of Ezra. I think it would have fit the whole "samurai roots" theme better, and I feel that despite Maul's connection with Ezra, his bond feels more personal with Kanan (maybe that's just because Whitwer and FPJ seem to be pretty cool buddies in real life though).

The Obi-Wan vs Maul fight was underwhelming to say the least!

I know, 10 seconds can be short but it had to happen.
