With Rebels Season 3 in full swing I thought it'd be an appropriate time to ask how everyone feels about Star Wars Rebels in comparison to The Clone Wars. So...

    R E B E L S or C L O N E W A R S ?

I think at the start people (including moi) had their doubts about Rebels. But now I feel like Rebels is better - not in all areas, but generally I just enjoy it more.

I love the Clone Wars but I really dislike some of the Arcs and feel like they are really out of place in Star Wars. For example; last night I watched the 'Altar of Mortis' arc (Season 3: Episodes 15-17) and I just got bored of it. The episodes just didn't feel like Star Wars - more like some crazy Lord of the Rings anthology. I know the good episodes in TCW outweigh the bad but it's a little shocking.

Another example; the Chronological Order of the episodes bugs me a little. I feel like Rebels feels more like Star Wars. It's light-hearted and fun where it needs to be and more serious where it needs to be.

When it comes down to it; we're only a few episodes into Rebels Season 3. Comparing Seasons 1-3 of TCW to Seasons 1-3 of Rebels and I feel like Rebels wins. I'm more attached and interested in the Characters in Rebels and I can't wait to see where they go.

That's my 2pennys worth anyway...what do you guys think? What did you vote for and why?

I find them hard to compare. I think rebels has a better average quality, but clone wars has had much better episodes and much worse ones as well.

That's quite a fair comment. I'm sure that this Season of Rebels is going to give us the real meaty episodes of the series. I'm really enjoying it so far.

I voted both, I know TCW was created first & I enjoyed many memorable episodes of it's journey, I didn't think the rebels would bring the same enjoyment but it has that's why I couldn't split them.

Clone Wars much more to be honest,at least for now. By The Clone Wars I mean at it's prime, like the Umbara arc. It was just more dark and the variety of story arc was amazing, which I've read that won't be possible for SWR. But we're only in season 3 so you never know..

Rebels has its share of good episodes when they aren't just filler. Otherwise Clone Wars was better.

So has anybody noticed that The Son in TCW looks exactly like The Grand Inquisitor?

Well I prefer The Clone Wars to Rebel's mainly because I've never heard of "Rebel's" but I do enjoy Rebels.

Right now TCW has a bit of an edge in my mind because of a few factors including story/lore, animation/direction, and contributions to building on the Force in Canon material.

However, with the current season of Rebels, I see it catching up with TCW in all of those categories. With the inclusion of Maul and that whole story arc, including Bendu, things are really getting intriguing.

Here's a few TCW vs. SW:R i have. Hope you would agree:
    -Cartoon Network vs. Disney. HA!

If Rebels was on CN then I think we would seen alil more mild violence. They started TCW when the PT was booming so they had the cash and time to spend on visualization/animation. With Rebels it gives us what I think it should start is a stronger story with Kanan being the "Last Jedi" between Ep. 3/4 who we see in action. So its great cause Vader knows about Kanan/Ezra. Disney guidance is more family viewed so with not showing alot of killing and slashing of people we lose alil SW action.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars for sure. It was a much more "mature" show than Rebels will ever be. The story arcs had more variety and lasted longer, it could get "darker", it helped to flesh out plenty of characters from the films: both major and minor, it expanded upon the force lore of both the Jedi and Sith, and it wasn't afraid to touch upon more "complex", inhumane, and grey issues.

IMO, TCW is the best thing we ever got from Lucas' mind. The TV show format truly allowed him to play around in the sandbox he'd spent years creating, and also allowed him to take risks he would never have been able to do with the films.

Rebels has been very mission of the week and is a little too child-friendly at times, with a few exceptions. Making Rebels a children's show has really limited its potential. I wish there were more episodes like Twilight of the Apprentice. That felt very Clone Wars-esque.

I really don't like the prequels. However Clone Wars is by far a better show.

Disney is going to keep the SW to themselves. I dont see there being another TCW with the CN taking that. I could of seen GL taking advantage of Netflix series and CN, adult swim, to make a good SW anime like TCW. Rebels is missing that darkside/dark action of SW. its a shame to me cause thats how SW was but now that Disney has control its more family orientated. no slashers, Anakin going bezerk, Jengo fetts head cut off. dookus as well. you know.

Rebels isnt a bad series, would like to see it end as a anthology film. find out the end of kanan(last jedi physically known in SW timeline canon(obi/yoda not in the picture yet)) there has been alot of fillers in season 3 but i think its cause of Rogue 1. we get another band of rebels so they are slowing the action down. to me, having Kanan, Ezra, maybe Ahsoka(if alive still) battle Vader cause to me there are prolly the only ones who can somewhat challenge him. Vader wont have a strong presence in the film, who would kill everyone with just choking and pushing everyone away. look what he did to Padame, so simple....

Rebels' fillers are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than CW's fillers. The ones of CW are just sooooo painful to watch through.
