But it was destroyed in TLJ, so it just needs a new one.

Because she fixed it. You can clearly see a big black patch on the lightsaber. #DuctTape

No, she doesn't. Her costume is lighter and has a hood.

I'd buy this. Shmi is just Rey using an advance version of FaceApp.

Here’s a crazy TT scenario: Rey and Co, go back in time when Luke is training Ben Solo and tries to stop that fateful night from happening? It appeals to every part of the fanbase and gives them something:

-You get to see a Younger/More Hopeful Luke before he confronts Ben, so that appeases the fans who didn’t like TLJ Luke.

-You could have a Han/Luke reunion (possibly photoshopping Leia) dropping off Ben for training. This appeals to the ‘We wanted to see a Big 3 reunion’ crowd.

-If Rey is successful in changing history, you get a redeemed Ben Solo without being like ROTJ Vader redemption. And you don’t have to call it a redemption cause the Luke/Ben massacre never happens, so Ben is always a good guy. This will appease the redemption crowd.

-You can then have Rey-Lo in TROS fighting Palpatine at the end of the movie, to appease that crowd.

I think the key is to have an open mind, sit down in that cinema and be swept by the story JJ and Terrio are telling us, whatever it is. I think people sometimes forget that the best part of being an audience member is letting oneself be moved by the world of possibility someone else’s story is. I will leave all my worries at the door. For me, TLJ wasn’t the great movie if could have been, but I enjoyed it immensely because it was SW, because all the great characters I love where there, because the visuals were breathtaking. We will enjoy TROS I’m sure. It may not be the brilliant film we all hope it to be, but it will be good and enjoyable. I’ll settle for that. :)

Rey’s outfit is similar to the one in TFA but it is not the same. The real reason she is wearing it and why her hair is similar to TFA is because they needed to keep consistency from the Leia scenes they used.

As @LagothZanta said, all those things may be explained in another way.
And personally I think that we won't hear that laugh. I also think that Sidius may end up being less physically present in this movie that people believe.
I take that laugh in the trailer as an "almost" red herring. "Almost" because he would be involed somehow, but how much?
That's the point and JJ's is often misquoted, when it comes to it.
What he said about Ian was that his presence at Celebration wasn't spoiled... not his presence on set.
But... not only we don't know what character Matt Smith played, officially we don't even know that he did play something for TROS.
A young Palpaltine maybe? This is a better hint about TT, imo.
Because there must be a good reason to hide this info. And a new character - we know nothing about - is not a good reason.

And if so... why a young Palpatine?
If there's any kind of TT plot... I bet it will have to do with a not so closed past.

My bet has always been that if that's the case, then it will have to do with Anakin's birth. With "the rise of the first Skywalker".
But I always called that a crazy idea as well.

Naah, Matt Smith is playing The Doctor again, and the Resistance have hired him and the TARDIS to get into the past.

SCENE: CHALMUN'S CANTINA, MOS EISLEY, TATOOINE. DAYTIME

Poe Dameron: "We can pay you 2,000 credits now. And 15,000 when we get there."
The Doctor: "Hmm. I dunno.... timey-wimey stuff shouldn't be interfered with..."
Rey: "We can also pay you with Jammy Dodgers, Fish FIngers, Custard, and a Fez."
The Doctor: "DEAL! Meet me at Cargo Bay 94...."

Every idea is legit. So, why not?
But then again, if he’s going to x new character we know nothing about, what’s the point of this secrecy?

I believe it’s one of the two: or he’s not in the movie for real, or he’s playing someone we know.

Maybe he is playing a young Palp that they meet when the crew goes back in time.....

If that turns out to be accurate I will never watch another Disney Star Wars movie again.

Isn't that pretty dependent on our, expectation culture and what we've learned?
But this is Star Wars. So:
You must unlearn what you have learned.

So we will end up with Ben being Anakins Grandpa and his own great grandfather?
Ben: Search your feelings. I'm your Great Grandfather.
    Kylo: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

On a more serious note it will make Rey the one to open end close the Skywalker loop (with every logical holes of time travel stories attached to it, just as it should).

Kylo as a father excluded, my bet/crazy idea is something of this kind since TFA.

She's not Shmi and she won't be Shmi sent in the past. They cannot do that. They cannot turn the super-powerful Rey in Shmi and
above all they cannot give her a destiny of slavery and that kind of death.
Storywise only, they could. But they won't.

What they can do, is revealing that Sidius "created" Anaking using Shmi as a surrogate mom.
Knowing about the prophecy. In a sense he stole his life from x future (not that different than Erza saving Ashoka).
But just because that was not what it was supposed to be and the curse of events changed, in the new course of events (that is the PT, OT and PT time line without any retcon required) the chosen one still has to be born.

The belonging to the Skywalker bloodline "ahead and not behind", may be a hint of that.
As well as the first line of TFA and therefore of the ST "this will start to make things right".
    Etc...

Rey may be a manifestation of the Force - with "hundred of generations of Jedi living in you now" - that gaves birth to the chosen one or she maybe his second coming.

Also, if he's the overall hero of the Skywalker saga, then the re-birth or the actual return of the hero is pretty much enstabisled in mythology.

    @SKB, well let's see here.....ok;

I want this thing ↑↑↑↑↑↑ to cease immediately...I'm fully over it.

I won't stand here and debate your "feelings" on the issue, and in fact to a degree, I might agree with you on some points like those, but you repeatedly pepper this all over these halls, and it ends...right here.

Leave your personal views on real world politics and social movements at the door.

Love it or hate it, it matters not, but it's what you got from Disney/LFL.

I thought most of the video was tongue-in-cheek. Yeah, they interspersed some real thoughts and opinions about the the ST & the saga as a whole, but they seemed to be riffing and having fun more than giving actual predictions. They have a YouTube channel that needs content; this was content.

That said, as for TT is SW, I'm not really digging it. I'm not a fan of TT in any episodic story setting. It strikes me as lazy and lacking creativity. "Well, where do we go from here? How will our heroes get out of this scrape? Oh let's just open a portal and allow them to go back in time and retcon what we know." No thanks. All, of course, just my humble opinion from the peanut gallery.

If I wrote a movie... it would be OBJECTIVELY bad. Count on it! :)

Agree about Rey and it being a dream sequence. When I first saw it my first thought was “damn she has a lot of make up on” as I she looked too clean and perfect. Her clothes looked cleaner as well (which you alluded to). This doesn’t look like someone who has been out and about in the desert. A dream sequence would explain that!

YES! These guys are all tongue in cheek and not taking anything too seriously. I find it refreshing to see 2 fans sit and just talk like nobody is watching. I think they're maybe a bit drunk too, right? To just sit and talk about something you love honestly and having a good laugh about how terrible it COULD be helps alleviate my own anxiety about TROS. I'm still recovering from my TLJ experience and need guys like this to remind me not to take it too seriously and just wait and see what we get. Whether I agree with what they're saying or not it's fun to see them genuinely enjoying what they're doing and having a good laugh. We could all stand to be reminded to lighten up sometimes. If they have emaciated, bald, red-eyed Ewoks then I will be there opening day. I'd even forgive a dead, cowardly Luke for those Evil-woks.

Here's what I don't get. These guys seem to just dismiss things without any reason.

Like, at one point, one of them refers to the return of Palpatine as "the dumbest thing they could do." But why? I get the feeling they could take anything in Star Wars and just say "that's so stupid" and expect people to nod along.

I can imagine if they were doing a Return of the Jedi speculation video. It's like, "Luke lightsaber is green in this one." "Oh man, that's the dumbest thing they could do."

For some reason I just can't let this go. This whole video just reeks of "seem superior by dismissing everything" fan culture.

Yes, that’s exactly the way I see it too. It’s just expecting people to agree with them and laugh without doing any work... it’s a lazy video.

I honestly don’t mind these guys. They do have interesting things to say, and some videos are funny, like that one in which one of them dilutes all their SW’s figurines in acetone :D and some of the video reviews by the red neck character (I can’t remember his name) are kind of funny.

My only problem with their most serious videos is that there isn’t enough variety of opinion, or challenges to their blind spots. I watched just now their review of midsommar and was somewhat frustrated that, although neither of those two guys disliked the movie, they neglected to comment on aspects which made midsommar a really submersible experience, and instead started to nitpick about the actress’s face and her costume ... like talk about missing the point.
