Um.....Maz ( who had also touched it by the way) said the saber called to Rey before she touched it....also...Han touchednit on ESB..hell Finn not only touched it but fought with it TWICE. Some real issues with that theory

Rey wasn't awakened. She showed signs of being force sensitive. He even said these imbued objects would be meaningless in the hands of someone without the force.

This all makes sense. Everyone wants Luke's saber. Its special.

Mark Hamill has even said Snoke says "Skywalker's sword is too powerful"

Again, he says it is stated that the saber would be meaningless in someone not force sensitive.

I was being tongue in cheek, but I think this may possibly be legit.

What do you mean she wasn't awakened? Of course she was. Snoke even asks"There's been an awakening have you felt it?" That's partly why It's called The Force Awakens

Awakened to the point where it was apparent she was force sensitive. But there was a very clear distinction from bore she touched it, to after

He meant Rey wasn't awakened until she touched Luke's lightsaber. I get his point.

However, Snoke said "there has been an awakening" in the scene after Rey and Finn help Han escape his freighter, a few scenes before they arrive at Maz' place. I believe Rey has always been force sensitive ("I've always known there was something inside me," etc.), but that the force truly awakens in her when she's confronted with true danger/agents of the dark side, and helps Finn escape on the falcon. This is the first time we see her tap into her force powers by flying the falcon. Aboard the freighter, she taps into it when helping Finn escape the rathtar's clutches by hitting the door switch at exactly the right time.

That's what I'm talking about. Also the Snoke quote isn't even in sequence of events. It's almost out of place.

I’m not sure if I’m following the stream of conversation here but is this an argument/debate over a REDDIT leak?

No one is arguing over a Reddit leak. It just went off topic.

It's just a discussion about a likely fake reddit leak that was done well, and sounded really interesting.

This is true but we also have to consider in the time between touching the saber and her first sign of force powers, her mind was probed twice by Kylo and she also saw into his. This could have speeded her amplification of her power as opposed to the saber.

wtf? that's weird. Can a FS lose power by touching the saber and will rey lose her power if/when she gives it to someone else to touch? the force ca be transferred? What about the midichlorians? I'm confused.

I dont it was true. The FS, in his story doesn't lose power. It's just that the object is embued with their power. Think of it as being enchanted.

We'll see. I doubt it goes the way he said.

But there is something up with Luke's saber. Snoke's line, "The sword of Skywalker is too powerful".

Curiously, he doesn't say Luke or Anakin. It's like it's simply an artifact of mystic. "The Sword of Skywalker"

Right? Personally, I love the idea of objects being embued with the force of its weilder, and with objects being embued by the Chosen One being more powerful and mystical. I would be 100% satisfied with that, and if that were the case, I would have zero beef with Rey being a random.

A thing that confuses me is that this contradicts direct canon in that the force is in all LIVING beings...are non carbon based forms FS?

^ True - but wasn't there a quote where someone said "Rian Johnson is fundamentally changing the way we understand the Force"? I swear I read that somewhere, Let me see if I can find it
