Sites have been reporting that reshoots for the TROS will be happening according to entertainment journalist Art Tavana:

"I’m being told that Disney is reshooting scenes for Star Wars (don’t quote me). Things aren’t looking good. Too many variables and audiences to please. George Lucas as a creative consultant seems like a very likely occurrence—though there’s no telling how much say he’ll have."

    https://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/star-wars-rise-skywalker-set-major-reshoots-good/

I can't say that I'm surprised by this. It is a bit worrying that they would consider doing reshoots this late in production, I honestly wish they had postponed this film a few more years. However, it's also possible that they filmed major revelation scenes early on with a different script to throw the cast and crew off and to prevent leaks.

Has anybody else heard anymore on this? Maybe it's a good thing, they obviously want it to be the best movie it can be.

'Cause "we got this covered" is always a reliable site... For context, Endgame did re-shoots in January to add "I am Iron Man". Big productions like these always have them. So wait, you believe a guy that DOESN'T even want to be quoted, because he knows he full of it? LOL

@Pomojema: "Lucasfilm are indeed doing reshoots, but they're planned, and George Lucas was involved already. No need to panic."

It's the same quote on every site. I know it's just this one guy saying this, but I still think it's interesting. Like I said though, maybe it isn't a bad thing. However, if there is any credibility and truth to what he's saying regarding "too many audiences to please." (and if that comes from someone involved with the film) - It could mean that they are trying to make critical last minute plot changes, which makes me concerned that the story wasn't fleshed out properly from the beginning.

Could be bad, could be good. The only one of the new movies that DIDN'T do extensive reshoots was The Last Jedi, if I recall correctly, so wouldn't surprise me if it's true. Rogue One reshot big parts of the movie and everyone seems to love that one. It is a little troubling if they are trying to satisfy "too many audiences", since the movie could turn out to feel like a "designed by a commitee" type of deal.

Just because it's "multiple sites" doesn't mean it's still not clickbait and just bad misinformation. Especially from a guy who DOESN'T EVEN WANT TO BE QUOTED. Like that doesn't strike a major red flag for you? The same guy doesn't even stand by his own information, but just puts it out 'cause clickbait.

Clickbait stories built around quotes from a source stating "don't quote me" are so laughably sad.

"We Don't Got This Covered" is full of crap.

Believing anything that site says is right-wing-conspiracy-theory-level madness.

September reshoots have been planned for many months. Understand they were planned. Productions with this high of a budget always have reshoots planned.

Reshoots are extremely common in film these days.

Everyone always immediately assume's a bad thing, but that just kind of demonstrates an ignorance to the industry itself.

I don't think there's anything to worry about right now.

Yeah, it's about par for the course these days. I can't think of the last modern film I saw that didn't happen to have a re-shot scene or two.

I'm sure these kinds of things have always happened, even in the great films of the 20th century. We just never heard about it because things weren't always getting leaked onto the internet. ;)

Worry can easily creep in when people care deeply enough about something. It's okay be concerned, but don't let it drive you to distraction. :)

Next some genius is going to see that they've hired a script supervisor.

"Ohhh, so now their script needs to be supervised?
    Wow. Must be pretty immature.
    Things are not looking good."

I'm sure he said "don't quote me" to evade legal entanglement. Wording is key.

Here's a summary from his website, he sounds quite accomplished:

"I'm a writer and culture critic based in Los Angeles, and a former columnist at L.A. Weekly and Playboy. My byline has appeared in VICE, The American Conservative, Spin, USA Today Pop Candy, The Spectator, Billboard, Paste, National Review, Arc Digital, Penthouse, The Weekly Standard, Village Voice, O.C. Weekly, The A.V. Club, The Washington Examiner, Consequence of Sound, MTV News, Pitchfork, et al.

In 2017, I won an L.A. Press Club Award for my work at L.A. Weekly. Since then, I've been asked to appear on radio programs and podcasts such as the Bret Easton Ellis Podcast (author of American Psycho and Less Than Zero), BBC Radio 5 Live, and KFI AM 640 to provide commentary on politics and pop culture.

In the spring of 2019, my writing (and Twitter) were discussed in a chapter of Bret Easton Ellis' first nonfiction book, White.

Prior to my work as a journalist, I was a media consultant and marketing executive at leading entertainment PR firms and film studios. Between 2008 and 2014, I helped produce marketing copy and media strategies for corporate brands such as Nintendo and Netflix, classic and cult films at Warner Bros., and several local and statewide political campaigns in California.

I have over a decade of media relations experience in the arena of politics and culture.

I'm currently authoring a cultural history of Guns N' Roses for ECW Press. For inquiries relating to publishing, please contact my literary agent:

David Patterson at Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency."

For his supposed experiences, he still doesn't understand how common reshoots are?

Perhaps he felt the need to say something based on the "too many variables and audiences to please" statement. I simply hope they aren't making extensive plot changes trying to make everyone happy.

Years after this film is released, I hope we get some back story at the creative and decision making process when it came to writing the scripts for these films and how much flexibility there was.

I mean, even if someone at LFL did say that, it's not like it's that groundbreaking of a statement.

Have you seen the fandom lately?
