Hello I was thinking since Admiral Ackbar is in the Resistance and since HALF of the ENTIRE Republic fleet has been destroyed do you think we could see Mon Calamari or Kuat donating ships to the Resistance to fight the First Order or maybe the remaining Republic Fleet will join with the Resistance "fleet" and we could see some A-wings and Y-wings more upgraded just like the X-wings and Tie-fighter's and maybe we could see Chopper from Rebel's again and he is flying with Ezra's and Sabine's kid let me know what you think

I think Kuat do FO ships, but this could be a really cool idea. I would work for the Resistance really well, but I think the upgraded A and Y wings could be really good. :)

I would also like to work for the resistance .

It would be cool to see the min calamari planet building new ships for the republic and having part of VIII be the FO's obsession with destroying the planet because of what it is (I know it sounds like a rehash)

Soon half the first order fleet will split off and name Rey as it's empress. Now that would be a suprise. Empress Rey Skywalker and her imperial fleet.

Mon Calamari would be cool to see. I wish we could see so many planets we've heard about but not actually been explored in the movies...hopefully like Ord Mantell...the Sith planet Moraband - even that name gives me the shudders more than Korriban, which isn't in canon anymore. Kuat would be another one I'd like to see...like what if there was a scene where some resistance fighters and Rey attempt to steal some freighters and fighter ships for the Resistance and the Republic? that would be something.

If they did this, I'd love to see a battle like the Sluis Van shipyard from the Thrawn trilogy. That was fun to read and I can't imagine how awesome it would be if they put something similar in Ep. VIII

Well in the book, it was still the empire and I think it was the new republic, but now it could easily be the FO and the Resisitance. Admiral Thrawn stole a bunch of mining machines from Lando's new operation. Then he started conducting hit and run attacks on republic shipping lanes. This caused the republic to spread it forces out and weakened the presence at Sluis Van, the largest ship dock in the republic. The republic thought Thrawn would never be stupid enough to attack Sluis Van because it was heavily defended (think Death Star trench turrets times 10) but Thrawn used stealth tech to get very close, then launched all the mining machines loaded with storm troopers. The goal wasn't to destroy the republic ships, but to take control of them and then retreat with a new fleet, leaving the republic fleet depleted. This story arc could bring Lando into the picture, and Hux could easily play the part of Thrawn. Obviously you wouldn't want this to be the climax or main conflict of the story, but if it happened early on, it would help establish that the FO definitely is the dominant power, and it's gonna be a very tough fight for the Resistance. It definitely won't play out like the Thrawn book, because that would take too much of the movie to set up, but I think it would be cool to see a battle at a ship yard is my point. Maybe the FO takes control of several Mon Cal cruisers, so nobody knows who's on what side.
