Irrespective of the book's relegation from canon, the criticism of "The novelization made it clear how close Obi-wan and Anakin are... the movie made it feel like they were coworkers" is a fair one that is backed up by another actual canon production; The Clone Wars. I wish that Anakin had been in the movies, I actually liked him - Obi Wan clearly did too. I guess you could say "...and he was a good friend."

This is one of the best observations I've seen about the prequels in a very long time. I've never really thought of it this way before, but I totally agree- in fact, I have to wonder if these films weren't actually a big contributing factor for the push back to practical effects, too.

Just finished again, and boy, anakin sure flips on padme quick! “We can rule together! LIAR! (Force choke), jeez! But the visuals, oh the visuals...amazing. Not sure why bail and yoda are watching the birth, however. That’s kinda gross...

And yoda is a little creepy through out, maybe arrogant, I’m not sure, but no one calls him on it. I suppose that’s part of why the story plays out the way it does. And when he doesn’t kill the emperor, and commits to self exile, it’s seems we’re gearing up for parallels in TLJ, HMMmm...

That wouldn't shock me in the least. But I also wonder, if the dialogue and pacing were better written and the movies received far better because of it, would that push back have taken place?

I think Revenge of the Sith is every bit as terrible as the two preceding movies, at times even worse. The worst about it is that so many people give it leeway, "Oh it's not as bad as the others". I assume because of the one second close-up of Vader's helmet, a shot Lucas actually manage not to Blast up with silly dialogue or weird cartoon droids buzzing about or whatever. And it's a bit darker in tone/color. And there's the scene with Anakin and Padmé starting out their windows, which was well done with the music and no trash dialogue or CGI droids/aliens...only it's placed in a film that doesn't ever give us reason to believe these two characters suddenly have this emotional moment. But as a stand-alone sequence it worked, many thanks to John Williams.
I also liked the red color used in the first scene between Padmé and Anakin when she tells him she's pregnant. And finally after two dreadful movies See-Threepio looked good. Ian McDiarmid had a few good scenes before they totally butchered the Darth Sidious side of things.

I know I'm strangely positive here but rest assured I did my best trying to find some elements that I thought were well done. The rest is overwhelmingly bad and not worthy of the Star Wars logo.

Though it's probably my least favorite SW movie, I still think ROTS is ok.

I liked the movie. It had more emotion in it than the others. Not saying it was perfect - not even saying it was well executed - but it touched me deep inside.
