SPECULATION Rey loses a limb

Good point. Rey losing a limb definitely has to have a purpose. If she were to lose a limb, would it be to Kylo? If Kylo does beat Rey as everyone has been guessing in ep. VIII, I think it would make most sense for it to happen during that fight.

 

A common theme among the posts of this thread are that she will lose a limb given that she is a Skywalker. But IMO I don't think she will end up being a Skywalker, though it is still entirely feasible that she will lose a limb nonetheless. I think she will be a Kenobi, and Obi-Wan did not lose any limbs...
If she were to lose a limb, I sure do hope it's a leg, because I've seen one too many hands get cut off.

 

It's more that the main protagonist tends to lose a limb in the second film. Being a Skywalker is incidental to that.

And as for a reason for her to lose one, perhaps it could be the price of her own anger/overconfidence? She thinks that she's got a shot at "avenging" Han and Finn, and she doesn't believe that he'll be able to best her because she already beat him, before Luke's training. But then she finds a better-trained, much more focused and cold-blooded Kylo, who is also at 100% this time and no longer holding back, and it doesn't got well for her.

 

This. There's no reason to have her lose an appendage just because other Skywalkers have lost appendages. I hope Rian Johnson makes things more interesting!

 

And when many still thought Finn was to be THE jedi SW fans were pretty much demanding that he had to lose a limb. Now that it's Rey most folks are reacting the same way I guessed they would by saying it isn't necessary for Rey to suffer that same fate. Let's face it....society doesn't want to see its female leads get scarred in any way.

 

Yes I like the idea of her losing the leg at the knee.
A nice terminator style lower leg with a built in lightaber that she can decapitate foes with a Tae Kwon Do spinning kick

I guess fairness is only something people want when it includes not getting an extremity ceremoniously severed from your body.

 

I dunno....why not just have her with battle scars? No loss of limbs...I don't care if she is or isn't related to the Skywalker clan but I think seeing limbs being lopped off is enough for me. I can see her getting slashed here and there in the same manner that Obi-Wan did and possibly Finn. But no worse than what Finn suffered in TFA. But enough to show her how the ongoing war has changed her over time and she has these battle scars to show for it. I can see it though, she could have scars somewhere...on her body.

If you give her an eyepatch...I'd laugh and expect her to do some kind of a pirate impression. lols.

 

I'd rather keep her intact. She's better than her father and grand father.

 

I agree ...just because it happened to Anakin and Luke, doesn't mean it should happen to Rey...I mean Leia is also a Skywalker and she hasn't lost any limbs...so lets keep that tradition for the women and if anyone is to lose a limb, its Ben . lols.

 

I do like her to get another star tatooed on her right foot.

but seriously, i wouldn't mind a Star Wars trilogy in which no one's limbs got lopped. just to change things up a bit.

 

I think Leia is safe and so is Rey but at least for now but Kylo...he has to be the one who has to watch it hahaha

Ben lost a part of his face already Leia lost a part that was special to her but was not hers specifically. As for Rey, #Reyskywalker

I don't mind if Rey gets a flesh wound here or there as long as its believable that the pain itself is hard to endure. I want to feel the pain she's feeling when she's fighting. Flesh wounds are the way to go but I say don't over do it....maybe she gets blasted at the abdomen and upper shoulder...gets slashed at the side...something like that oh and on the thigh...

The point is, if your a Skywalker and do stupid things you get injured one way or the other............you see Leia bruises her left hand by pushing that power coupling.
