Yes, you and yours alike fans always knew, somehow, Luke wasn't destroyed in TLJ.
I was talking about me and other fans who thought its destruction, because it looks TLJ destroyed Luke's legacy if film is observed superficially.

However Luke has given to galaxy not just his own personal tale-tale legend, but his great daughter to.

Looking restrospectively everything I recorded in this thread will became obvious. Actually I believe some people will say after ep IX....no J.J Abrams reverted and destroyed The Last Jedi , he changed everything from Rian Johnson's film...

..than we will say :
No...it was all hinted in TLJ already.

strophe 9. Rey voluntarily goes to face Kylo, in an elevator, an absolutely same situation Luke was in episode VI.She does what Luke did when he was young.Tries to turn Kylo to the light side as Luke once tried to turn Vader. She is new Luke.
strophe 10. In absolute reminiscence of Ep. VI. Rey faces "emperor" Snoke, and is presented with a challenges, even faced to see destruction of the rebel fleet just like Luke in ep VI.She is new Luke, same challenges of Luke.
strophe 11.Kylo, who already knows who her parents are, decides for saving Rey and killing his master.(+1 and saving grace for Kylo).Same as in ep VI.
strophe 12. Kylo gives her hand, and asks her to join him for they to rule and bring order to the galaxy together, of course same as in ep. V between Luke and Vader, implying strongly that Kylo knows she has a value and lasting bond with him,she is Skywalker.She faces again same challenge as Luke once.
strophe 13. Kylo and Rey fight for light saber of Skywalkers.Skywalker saber (kyber crystal) can not decide between them and explodes, breaks in 2 halfs. Proof they are both Skywalkers.
14. Luke dies and has a vision, peace and purpose, he gets it finaly.
15. Rey is struck by Luke's end , she senses it before even Luke's twin sister Lea senses it. Rey must hold onto something by the shock...she almost got it.Left hand, just as in the dark cave on Ahch-to when she asked cave to show her parents.

Kylo pulled Sykwalker lightsaber towards him in ep VII,and Rey was behind Kylo.

She continued pull and accelerated when Kylo tried to catch saber.Saber zoomed near Kylo.
Unexpected for Kylo.Anlike on Supremacy where both engaged full potential.

Novel says the Force desturbance, a conflict, within Kyber Crystal in the Skywalker lightsaber was such that it caused explosion.

Its plainly simple.

Occam's razor.---Sykwalker saber explosion is most easy to explain by the fact that Kylo and Rey are equial in not just raw Force power, but also in the quality (legacy) of that power--both are Skywalkers.

Kyber Crystal is not mechanic device, or crude matter, it has even emotions .

We could say Kyber crstal exploded by conflict of Force within as ell as conflicting emotions within.

They both pulled saber in ep VII in the same time.

Kylo pulls, Rey pulls. Saber gets acceleration far above Kylo's expectation and zooms past the Kylo towards Rey, which was behind Kylo.

Kylo actually evaded for saber not to hit him, due to its unexpected acceleration towards him.

Both pulled saber in same direction, which was unexpected for Kylo.

Saber" loves "them both equally. Remember in the Force the Dark and Light are equal.And both are Skywalkers.

 

Saber exploded in ep VIII. because of conflict within Crystal.

Saber doesn't prefer Rey over Kylo. Saber is conflicted over them two.
