Because she was searching for a master.

Maybe that was too logical. Really you feel it's coming from nowhere ?

    Superheroes in Star Wars ?

    What's next ? Captain Tattoine ?

This. If the story was told in this way we will see people complaining that was a lack of originality, that we saw this before with Anakin in th PT or Luke in the OT...the people will complain, always.

That's what people do to learn, in a galaxy far far away or in another. Even, the mighy emperor Kylo Ren had to learn from a master.

I'll say this: we are led to believe that Luke trained himself between 4-5 and 5-6. He had one training droid session in 4 and a month or so of jedi school with Yoda. So, all of sudden in six he calls himself a Jedi Knight? While doing all the work himself? There are people in our world that would be described as prodigies.

Well, no. He went to finish his training in RoTJ and he got his final test in the emperor room by letting go his hate and his fears not by killing everyone around by tapping into the dark side like the girl did.

Yoda also said, "No more training, do you require."

He had way more training with Rey who basically had none. Why would she need training ? She's a superhero like FN said.

Still wondering why Master Skywalker was so worried about her going to the dark side cave because nothing happened at all.

She even instinctly knew how to swim ... Gifted.

And Anakin had more than 10 years of training, he was just the chosen one, nothing more.

from the cave. she went for answers and wasn't happy with what she saw, so did she go to Luke?
no: she went to Ben. and when Luke yelled at her for seeking out Ben, she gave Luke an ultimatum, which he threw back in her face.

and so she mailed herself to the FO to fight for Ben, which she wouldn't have done if she hadn't gone into the cave, been dissatisfied, and so touched Ben instead.
her seeking is what drives her. and the cave is central to that.

"The cave, remember your failure at the cave".

Same thing with Luke. He went into the cave with his weapons expecting a fight - holding onto his fear. He then rushed off to "save his friends" because of his fears, got himself into a scrap with Vader and all was nearly lost. Rey made pretty much the same mistake, foregoing the advice of "her mentor" and rushing into a fight both because of her fears (including finding out where she comes from) and lack of wisdom in understanding that the future is always in motion ("not going to go the way you think").

I'd hardly call that knowing "how to swim". All she did was fall in the water and get out. Honestly does everything she does have to be this bloody criticized? As far as flying is concerned that's 101 for a lot of people. Do we really need to know who trained Han Solo?

Personally, I never understood the appeal. I know saying the words Mary Sue will trigger a lot of people, but that's who she is. She never seemed like a real character because she the has always been better than anyone. Better than Kylo, better than Luke, better than the Guards. Her FIRST shot from the Falcon resulted in a TRIPLE KILL, I mean come on...

She's flawless and has no redeeming qualities to me.

Luke never used that same gun before A New Hope. He also never flew an X-Wing before and blew up the Death Star without technology. I mean come on...

Well, we do know that Luke has been flying on Tatooine non-stop blasting small targets.
He was preparing to go to the Academy, so he had some education about flying. And Ray? She was poor and couldn't fly on anything, yet she's an ace on the Falcon and knows more about it than goddamn Han Solo.

Actually she said she flew before, but she never left the planet. Honestly, flying the land speeder that Luke was flying is no different to what Rey was flying at the beginning. She's a scavenger. She has to know what's valuable in order to survive.

Yeah, that's why she knows everything about the Falcon which she's never flown before.

Flying is not that hard for a Skywalker. We're talking about the tiny hole which he should have struck. He did it because he used to do it on Tatooine. There's your difference. And Luke never showed some amazing skills like Ray. I don't think these two are similar at all.
And remember: Luke failed when he started his training. Ray? She scared Luke by her power and demonstrated mad skillz with the sword. She does everything right from the first try.

Watch the movie again. She clearly refers to herself as a pilot on multiple occasions something you would not do unless you have flown. Also this line tells us all we need to know "I've flown some ships but I've never left the planet!" So Rey has flown before that is not debatable. She like Luke flew on a desert planet without leaving the atmosphere. Obi Wan bragged on Luke's abilities so we as the audience trust that he can pilot. Rey on the other hand did not have that. She was alone so she was the only person that could vouch for her abilities which she did. I think people who come in here with the same old tired complaints must have only watched the movie once or willfully tune things out.

also, she knows everything about the Falcon because she worked on it with Unkar Plutt. she also says this repeatedly in the film.
