    Child molesting? lol.

If they weren't heartless drunks that abandoned her but nice parents that had no choice, then Rey wouldn't have felt alone as she does. She wouldn't have felt abandoned as Kylo does. That is the point. Rey was abandoned - not lost. And that is the important plot point. This is what she has been hiding from. It was very necessary.

Selling its own child...is highest level ,end stage of child abuse-maltreatment.
Surely her parents were not nice on her for 5 years. Ha?

So she must have been abused (maltreated)for five years, than sold.Bad parents aren't good and than one day decide to sell kid.Either they are bad from the start or not.

But wait, she draw recording of every day after she was left.
    So she loved her parents.

Why did she loved them?So much that this hope od them return has given her strenght to survive?

I think those who left her we junk dealer drunkards, who somehow got this lost child as a burdeon, but were not her parents
EDITED- I used inapropriate Word for maltreatment of young Rey,didn't know the difference in English, apologize.

When Rey and Kylo touched hands, Rey got the vision of Kylo turning against Snoke (which came true, but Rey thought Kylo was going to return to light, not become supreme leader himself). We can see that this vision is true from a certain point of view.

Kylo believes that Reys parents are junkers that sold her for drinking money and it will be true, but he may not have seen the entire picture (we don’t know why they sold her, maybe they thought Unkarr Plutt was a decent person, or at least best choice available. Or they were just awful parents that just abandoned their child)

Very good summation of why many of us thought Lucasfilm and RJ were going down the Rey Random road. Going back an looking at the questions it's clear that Rey Random has been in the answer for over four years.

Probably most logical approach is this what you said..certain point of view.

For instance, those alcocholic junk dealers could have been just the last in a chain of events that led to Rey's disapearance, some no ones that let say found Rey in secret compartment of..let say Millennium Falcon and, sold her to Unkar.
Than Unkar killed them and got Millennium to.
So what Kylo sough was truth, and what Rey felt Kylo sough is that Kylo sough truth..2 scums that sold her for drink and died in desert, but those were not her parents.

You should read my THREAD I just created about Rey's parents. I think it will all begin to make sense. :D

In The Last Jedi we learn Rey's parents were Nobodies that sold her off for drinking money. They were Junk traders and died on Jakku, currently in a paupers grave.

Kylo Ren makes them sound horrible. Was he exaggerating the truth to hurt Rey more so he could be the one that says "you're nothing, but not to me?"

So why did they trade Rey? Why did they wait until she was 5 or 6 years old to finally abandon her?

Here is the story as told by Jakku locals...

When Rey was born she was a beautiful baby girl like any other human baby. She was always happy and never gave her momma any trouble. But as she got older, her parents began to grow fearful of Rey. She could do things at a young age that didn't make sense to them.

At 6 months old Rey began talking. Not just momma or daddy, she would complete full sentences and asking complicated questions.

At 9 months old Rey pulled herself out of her crib and began walking. Her mother was astonished. She never tried to teach Rey to walk, but she just did it. Not only could she walk, but she could run and do flips.
Her mother was proud...but scared. Why was her daughter so advanced?

At 2 years old she was fluent not only in Basic, but in Droid speak. Her parents could not figure out how she learned these things. She was never taught anything. Rey would speak to the droids in the area and get the latest gossip from the droid pilots and repair droids.

At age 3 Rey began fixing things. Complicated things like hyperdrives and ship engines. She found a schematic and could figure out how to assemble and disassemble complicated equipment.

Things were getting out of hand. Her parents grew more and more afriad. They tried to hide her from the Jakku society. They didn't want anyone to know their child was a freak.

    They began drinking...a lot.

At age 4 Rey began building a Speeder for her father to use. However she needed parts and they were far too heavy for her to carry herself. She would ask the Teedo's in the area to bring her the parts she needed. It usually took her asking two of three times, but eventually they would just do what she asked. The Teedo's didn't even know why they did it.

    View attachment 43290

At age 5 Rey completed the Speeder and presented it to her father. He had been drinking heavily that day. Her mother as well. Rey was so excited to show her parents, but the reaction she received wasn't what she expected.

    View attachment 43291

They immediately grabbed her and dragged her down to Niima Outpost where Unkar Plutt, the junk boss of Jakku had his Junk shop. Rey's parent's had done business with Unkar all the time. This time, they were't there to trade junk.

    View attachment 43289
When Rey's parent's explained to Unkar all of the things she was doing, he was very interested. Rey could be a great scavenger for him one day he thought. So they made a deal. Rey's parent's traded her for enough money for her parents to drink for an entire season. They celebrated by taking a trip to a local Casino Ship orbiting in the Outter Rim.

Soon after their Rey-less vacation her parent's returned to Jakku. They moved far from Niima Outpost and eventually died from excessive drinking.

I would just like to point something out with Rey and Kylo's visions, and I don't know if it's been discussed or how others feel about it, but I still think it's worth noting that both Rey and Kylo Ren's visions might be inaccurate. Remember what Snoke said: “Weakness properly manipulated can be a sharp tool.” (And we know that Rey's past and Kylo's future are each character's respective weaknesses—Rey can't move past her desire to find her parents and Kylo can't move past his ambition for power at whatever cost.)

Rey said that she saw Ben's future and that it was clear, solid, and bright. As of the end of The Last Jedi, I don't see him being believably redeemed without dying. Something drastic would have to change there. I don't doubt that he will be redeemed, but because he's a villain who is now responsible (either directly or indirectly) for both Han and Luke's deaths, and because he's the last Skywalker, he most likely would have to die if they plan to end the Skywalker saga with Episode IX (which would make sense if Rey is truly a nobody). Basically, this would contradict what Rey saw in her vision.

Therefore, if we're assuming what Rey saw wasn't accurate (because Snoke was manipulating their minds), is it possible that what Kylo saw wasn't accurate either? I still feel like if Rey is a nobody, it could allow the saga to come to a meaningful conclusion with the death of the Skywalker family and the rise of a new generation of Jedi (further emphasizing that it's not where you come from, but what you ultimately make of yourself). But if she's a Solo, it would explain why her connection to Kylo continues after Snoke's death, and it would also allow her to do what Leia unfortunately cannot do because of Carrie's passing by redeeming Ben and fulfilling the legacy of Luke, Leia, and Han.

Rey had a potentially incorrect vision of Kylo's future, but he had a potentially incorrect vision of Rey's past.

It seems that visions of the future are the root cause for many of the issues that lead to the dark side.

Anakin had visions of his mother. It didn't help save her and it actually made him angry and slaughtered sand people.
Anakin had visions of Padme dying in child birth. He acted to prevent it and that action caused the future vision to come true.
Luke had visions of Han and Leia in pain on Bespin. He rushed to save them and it made things worse.
Now you have Luke see Ben Solo's future and it became self-fulfilling.
Rey sees Ben's future and she ends up face to face with Snoke. All because she was confident in the vision she saw of his future.

It seems that visions of the future only lead to pain. The only way to prevent the visions from coming true is to do nothing.
Yoda knew this which is why he preached keeping your mind to the here and now. The need in front of your nose. I believe Luke also tried to do this which is another reason why he exiled himself.

I think this is such a great way of looking at it. It's so true! Every vision of the future has either come true or worsened because someone tries to prevent it from happening. But we've never really had flashbacks before this trilogy, so I'm curious to see how this affects the past, just because Rey and Kylo's visions were somewhat intertwined.

I love this post, though, I think it really puts things into perspective going forward with these films and how we look at Force visions, because I think that's already changed so much because of how that concept is utilized in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

    Hm
If I would get special kid like Rey(or Einstein for that matters) I would not became alchocholic because of that.
In fact that kid woiuld make me want to live and fight, and in fact would help me survive.

I don't think the visions are the problem but the actions taken in response to the visions, the message for me is that the end never justifies the means:
-Anakin decided to side with a Sith Lord and kill younglins to save Padme.
-Luke contemplated killing his nephew to prevent him killing others in the future.
Both evil acts that had terrible consequences and didn't avoid the vision.

Now in the case of Luke's vision in ESB:
He saw his friends suffering and decided to risk his life instead of sacrificing them for the greater good. The consequences were good, he lost his hand? so what? He saved his friends and then continued his training.

He didn't save anyone. He was baited into a trap. Han still remained captured and Leia saved herself with a help of Lando and then also saved Luke. Also, both Han and Leia had been tortured.

Actually, it was his friends that saved him. Leia had to come to his rescue. Luke didn't help anything.

He saved them in ROTJ, Yoda's suggestion was the he sacrificed them and continue his training for the "greater good".

But they wouldn't have been sacrificed. That's the whole point. Luke runs to help because he thought they would die. They wouldn't have. He made things worse for himself and them by trying to prevent the visions.

The only counter to that is whether Vader would have allowed them to escape if he wasn't being occupied by Luke. He had already released Han to Boba Fett and Lando went Rebel to save Leia and Chewie.

What would have Vader done if he became immediately aware?

Would they have figured out how to save the hyperdrive without Artoo Detoo there, as Artoo was with Luke on Dagobah?

Always in motion, the future is.

Maybe I didn't make my point clear:
The vision implied his friends were in pain and in danger(this was true). Neither Yoda or Luke could now if they would die. Yoda's advice was that he should continue his training and sacrifice them if necessary, because he as a jedi candidate was the last hope.
Now my argument is that Luke made the morally correct choice, sacrificing his friends because he was to become a jedi and be the key to defeating the empire is hubris and completely misguided(as I said the end never justifies the means), neither him or Yoda could now if this was going to happen.
In the end Luke did finally saved his friends in ROTJ and the only thing worse was losing his hand.
