When I saw Rey ignite the lightsaber to fight Kylo... I'm sorry but I felt very uncomfortable. As if something wasn't right.
I really wanted to enjoy the scene but something inside just wouldn't let me. I was overwhelmingly irritated by the time I saw Rey overpower Kylo.
I was wondering what caused my discomfort. What could possibly make me feel the way I did?

It turns out I just really had to go to the washroom, thankfully my bladder of steel kept me through the rest of the film.

If you place a picture of Luke from ROTJ next to a picture of Rey from TFA you will notice that they look almost exactly the same. No wonder they cast her. Not only can she act but she actually looks like she could be Hamill's daughter.

I agree with the instictive use of the force like Luke shooting the Death Star or Anakin being a good pilot. But these are all minor things, mastering lightsaber fighting by seeing a flashback is not.

somehow she knows how to use the lightsaber very well with no training at all. i'd vote she's the chosen one or resurrection of anakin or something.

I absolutely disagree that these are minor things; for Anakin it is the central part of his character and backstory (only overshadowed by his immaculate conception) and for Luke it is the climax of the entire movie! Not at all minor things, those.

Again, I disagree. Rey doesn't master lightsaber fighting at all; actually, she's rather blast at it (even Jett Jukassa, the heroic padawan gunned down by Clone Troopers in RotS has more speed, lightsaber precision, andacrobatic flair than Rey), but luckily Kylo Ren is equally blast (and also Finn, by the way). The TFA lightsaber fight depicts noob kids who don't know what they're doing, and it shows, and IMHO it is a great and powerful use of a lightsaber combat. It is great to see wannabes ripping into each other, heh heh ;)

She knew how to use her staff so a lightsaber wouldn't be a problem, as for the chosen one that belongs to Anakin.

I always saw it that the force guided her when she allowed herself to let it in her. As for the chosen one thing and her being a reincarnation of Anakin...eh...I don't think it will work. If it can somehow...I dunno. There are possibilities that...maybe the force had something to do with the creation of her through the union of whoever it was brought her into the world...Not saying its like the bible....but what if these two ppl failed to make a baby and after several attempts, something of a miracle happened that led to the woman being pregnant. So what I am saying is that the force itself could have helped in some way to make Rey happen. Who knows maybe it was Anakin who told the force to help...k that sounds kinda dumb. Let's just say it was the force itself and leave it at that :p

Neither Rey, Kylo, nor Finn knows what they're doing with the lightsaber (or any sword for that matter), which I think is awesome and exciting. :) These are just kids wacking each other with VERY dangerous weapons they barely know which way to point, which makes those scenes all the more poignant and intense. (Ray, for instances, is FAR more proficient with the bo staff than the lightsaber). It will be interesting to see how the filmmakers will let Rey & Co improve their skills visually in E8 & E9. :D

I'm happy that Star Wars is back, about female jedi's, the only one I liked was Bastilla Shan from Kotor. (Ahsoka was decent)
Female warriors are not very believable in my opinion. (and no, I'am not a sexist/misogynist or macho)
Sure it's an interesting change, but I would have preferred a male warrior that steps in Luke's boots.
Disney wanted something different and I can't blame them.

I don't wrote that she was different, I wrote that I liked her. (and yes she was different - vulnerable and human)
Maybe I'm biased, because I like Kotor very much. (the Kotor I storyline was great in my opinion)

I dont mind it due to how she picks up the force so quick. After watching TCW and thinking about how the SW story goes in order that I see why she is able to harness it so quick. Even with Luke harnessing the force to hear Obi-Wan through the force just adds to how strong Luke was at the time. TCW shows how much Yoda knew at the time. I just dont see how Qui-Gon was chosen by the force to be able to talk to Yoda, but Ill take it as is.
