The chances of KK okaying Rey ending up in a Hollywood unrealistically-older-man-younger-girl relationship may appear to be precisely zero, but perhaps she was won over by the prospect of the wedding itself? Chewbacca can give her away and I'm sure Finn could do a great best man speech. Or even better it could be the other way round...

Silver Story?


How great did Daisy Ridley look at the Oscars 2016?

There's a nice color-coding for 'Star Wars' fashions (as one poster on this thread implied) --- tan/maize, silver/grey, blue/white, and of course, black.

Ridley wore a very nice silver dress at the Oscars, so I posted two nice silver model pics below.

If we want a *potential* Jedi such as Rey to be involved in a storyboard love-affair (many think Kylo/Ben is the superior candidate), then we have to talk about 'Lucas pedestrianism couture,' no? That would make conversations about 'Jedi-love taboos' much more comfortable.

One could argue that the post-Luke generation is in fact more liberal in nature. But let's not get too too serious...

I don't understand why strong female protagonists are not allowed to have a love interest. Poor girl's been alone for her whole life. She's craving connection and partnership.

I vote Kylo Ren for the love interest.

I agree that this scene is filled with sexual tension but certinly not on Rey's side. Kylo in this scene tries to behave like an alpha male, desires informatiom from herand maybe even Rey herself. However, she does not want him. She loathes him and proves that she has will strong enough to say no, what definitely hurts his male pride. That interrogation scene was no Han and Leia moment from TESB, where she tries to play unreachable. Rey hates Kylo from the first place and even if she felt anything to him, it was all gone by the time Kylo kills Han and severely injures Finn. Kylo may still try to make Rey his and a Beauty and the Beast-esque may come into fruition, with Rey being Belle and Kylo a Beast, but we are definitely far, far away from such a scenario coming into fruition.

 

maybe not so far. Rey is an innocent and she may be naturally curious about this energy/power they share.
frankly, i think they both approach it from that: they are attracted to the Force in one another.
that's not wedding bells, but it's an interesting dynamic to build on.
i think any overt sexual interpretation is in our heads, but it's intentional.
they aren't lusting after one another, but their relationship may be designed the same way Han and Leia were:
the audience sees it before they do or before they capitulate: that they belong together.

and maybe that's just in the Force and no kissy kissy. but the magnetism is deliberate.

 

I voted for "No one", but not for reasons of avoiding attachment and certainly not because of any Jedi reasoning. I simply believe that Rey is going to completely parallel Luke's state of mind in the original trilogy. A lone desert child with dreams of traveling the galaxy and fighting for the greater good. These wide-eyed dreams most likely won't allow any romanticism on screen to reinforce the feeling of Rey's focus and dedication to the greater good for the audience. Not to say that she isn't able to have a romantic partner, but I truly believe the character is in a mindset that prevents her from having any space in her thoughts for such things at this point.
It's more likely to me the romantic connection would take place elsewhere, like in Poe and Finn. Why not?

 

I absolutely agree with you there. Rey hates his guts but as Carrie says "Rey is very forgiving"

I am disturbed at the idea of Reylo. Rey seems repulsed by him. Ben if he has an attraction to her its closer to sexual assault than healthy attraction. Later he offers her training which suggests to me he is willing to use her has his pawn just as Snoke uses him.

I want the romance to be Finn.
