    You see it in the seen where Rey knocks the door and Luke says "Go away!" and you can see it in the end in the shot where you see that Rey has the books. I also believe you can see it in the scene on the Falcon, just before Rey is jettisoned and flies towards the Supremacy.

    But it is a fragmented Sith crystal, so I don't know if it still works. I like to imagine that it's from Vader's weapon, but I think they already had another story for Vader's sabre.

    I love it how cool characters like Ahsoka and the Imperial Knights from Star Wars Legacy had these white/silver lightsabres. I'd love to see Rey have something similar, but I'd also love it when it is just blue.

    Thanks. I knew Luke had the pendant but I never noticed that Rey ends up with it. I will have to look clser when TLJ comes out in video

    I think the symbolism here IMO, is that Rey is to reinvent the jedi order. As Yoda explained to Luke, the books in the tree we're no "page turners" and Rey already possesses everything that's written in them. Time to start fresh, not rehash what has been purposely burned to the ground. Rey is the Phoenix that rises from the ashes of the old. The beginning of a new era of force users. I feel that her constructing her own NEW weapon is one of the first of many manifestations of that process. And just on a theatrical note, her having her own brand new saber is way more exciting. Luke (except for force ghost of course) and his saber are both no more. There's a message in that in itself.

    There is quite a few ways this one could go. I like the idea of a double bladed but I just don't think it would appear in the movie. On the other hand just re crafting Anakins would be a little lame. I think a green one or a white one would be cool.

    Ooooooooo. White. Didn't think of that one. White symbolizing a clean slate IMO. I know that's a little far fetched.

    She's possesses what's in the books... because she has the books. He was reassuring Luke that she was on the right path, he was also being really funny at Luke's expense. Here's Luke being all dramatic and wanted to burn the tree and books and then doesn't and Yoda zaps it with lightning and Luke freaks out... it's even funnier on 2nd viewing. Yoda trolling.

    Rey will use what she needs from the books. The knowledge isn't lost. There just aren't any "Masters" left to dictate what is the right path.

    Yoda said it himself that she already possesses whats in the books. I never said she didn't physically HAVE the books, I was just reiterating Yoda's statement that the books can't teach her anything that she doesn't already know. Weather or nor not SHE in fact knows this is another question. Perhaps she may need to allow the force to guide her to unlock it's secrets within her.

    Yoda was clearly making a joke. His point was that she already understands what she needs to to go forward, to be a Jedi. He didn't mean she literally KNEW everything in the books. She also HAS the books to guide her if she chooses. Yes she "posseses what's in the books" that's what happens when you actually HAVE the books. Don't over think it.

    Ok we're having a communication breakdown. We're both saying the same thing. How do you NOT see that? Lol. I never said she possesses EVERY word in the books. I'm saying she already possesses in essence - through - the - force what is essentially in the books.

    GIven her past weapon was a staff, it is easy to see a double bladed being used. I also agree that she is the beginning of the new and there for would create a new one. She also has that scavenger in her and certainly wouldn't be wasteful so she could use bonding tape on Anakin's broken one.... frankly I got nothing.

    i can't believe that 8 films down... and we still haven't seen a live action saber construction.

    that is my only wish for Rey and episode 9.. that she build a new lightsaber and we get to see it. i honestly don't care if it's pink with green spots... just wanna see it being made!

    i do think that she will have repaired Anakin's blue saber by the start of episode 9.
    Ben clearly wants it... in TFA he tried and Rey pulled it away. in TLJ he tried and Rey stopped him.. resulting in it breaking of course.
    in episode 9..... Rey will willfully hand it to Ben to keep

    I agree! and i hope they do, part of me also wants to see its not super easy and it wasnt like a paint by numbers "oh yay that was easy" I mean Kylo's is unstable due to a cracked crystal (or something like that) the cannon experts can fix that detail if im wrong

    Yes, it is in the box with the books. You can see it in the last shots of the books when Finn searches for a cover.

    I think she will repair Anakin's lightsaber. And she will probably use it for awhile...Then she'll return it to its rightfull owner and go and make her own.

    I've seen it 11 times :p. I'm only not entirely sure you can see it already in the scene where Rey closes the box with books before she enters the escape pod, but it is most certainly in the box when Finn takes the blanket from it.
