I am there with you. Her being a Skywalker was "implied but never declared".

Rey Solo is dead. Denial is just the first phase.

If your theory rests on like 4 people getting mind wiped and false memories implanted, I think that says everything.

My theory is that there is going a be a story-arc from there. Maybe not a twin, but a younger sister who was thought dead.

Part of me keep thinking all of the characters knew Rey's relationship - Han, Leia, Kylo, Chewie. So much so that I kept waiting for the reveal - but every time I thought it was coming, they would cut away - as if the characters were discussing things off screen that wasn't shown to the audience.

Han and Leia seemed too emotionally attached to Rey, and her to them, for someone they didn't really know at all.

I'll have to see it again to get a better sense of things. Luckily, now that I've seen it and given it an ok for my daughters, I'm going back on Saturday!

Watch Luke vs Vader in 'Jedi', it's clearly Luke's style.

Lord Denton's thoughts echo my own. Rey is a Skywalker, who was put into hiding to protect her from the First Order, her cousin (Kylo) and Luke, who's afraid of training someone else that could turn.

The potential between Kylo and Rey is huge, as KR can't deal with the fact that there is another heir to the Skywalker line that shows more potential than him. The lightsaber going to her is going to hurt him, as we saw in TFA. That Snoke then calls him back to complete his training suggests the threat of a new Skywalker that could destroy him.

Surely has to be luke's daughter, was hinted at so much would be bizzare if she isn't.

    So, my thoughts.
WHich span maybe a bit of ground:

    What do we have?

We have a little girl left with a really not very nice alien on a very out of the way planet. ANd left in slave like conditions, a complete mirror to Anakin's situation who was taken out of there as a child.

We have a young man/teenager rebelling against his family who somehow fell into the hands of Snoke to be turned to the dark side, but who admittedly still struggles with the light.

    - Rey is waiting for her family, so we can kinda assume that it was a family member that left her on Jakku.
    - Rey owns an X-Wing helmet that clearly says "Raeh". So, did she chose it because it spells her name, or did she name herself after the helmet because she had nothing else.
    - she is seeing/remembering (?) bits and pieces of the sabers history (in sound mostly) with pictures that are her own, Luke crying, the Knights of Ren slaughtering people, the corridor of a starship

It very much looks as if she was present during the massaker or close by. But she wasn't killed, why?

When someone mentions a woman who helped Finn and BB-8 escape from Jakku, Kylo reacts IMMEDIATELY.
When he has Rey he treats her with care, never lays a finger on her, doesn't hurt her... a total opposite to Poe - even though he desperately needs that starmap.
When Poe makes a comment about his helmet, Kylo scoffs. When Rey makes a comment, he takes it off.

That leaves us with a character who remembers a massaker, possibly went by a different name and who the evil guy has a connection to.

    Here comes my theory:

    Rey's name is not Rey.
She was present at the academy because Luke is either her uncle or her father.
Rey is also supposed to have died there and assumed to be dead by everybody.
Instead Kylo spared her and dropped her off on Jakku, getting her out of the way of both FO and their family.

This is also the reason, even if she is Han and Leia's daughter, why they don't recognize her.
I mean, it's been 15 years and she was 5 the last time they saw her. She supposedly had a different name and nobody expects her to show up because they think she is dead.

What does that leave us with?
Well, Rey, in my opinion, totally is a Skywalker, but if she is a Skywalker or a Solo remains to be seen.
But the fact that she reacted so strongly to the Skywalker lightsaber nudges me more in direction of Skywalker.

    Everything is possible.
    Still.

Can anybody remember the ship flying away in Rey's vision?
I have a vague memory it might be this ship here on the cover: Either way I'm checking it tonight when I'm watching the movie a second time.

It was definitely not a Y-Wing.

Yeah, put me in the daughter of Luke camp. Kylo seemed to react strongly to news of a "girl," as if it immediately set off warnings. I don't think everybody knows; the fact that Luke had a child might have been kept secret outside of the family. It makes sense that nobody came out and said it—Leia would naturally be cautious and Kylo is trying to be estranged from his old life. Plus, we need a "I am your father" moment in VIII. ;)

The main reason I'm convinced of it is her vision. It dealt specifically with the Skywalker legacy, from Bespin to the fall of Luke's first academy. Yeah, she got a glimpse of the snow fight, too, but she and Kylo are the inheritors of the legacy. The vision wasn't really about the events of TFA; it was about being a Skywalker.

Finally, the saber cements it for me. What was it Maz said? "It belonged to Luke Skywalker and his father before him."

I've no idea what it was like, but I think a Y-Wing would have been a lot more obvious and would've been spotted instantly by a lot of fans.

I'd say a small Corellian style ship. Very light freighter or something.

I will watch Luke again but Palpatine is only one I remember seeing twist the saber while Jabbing with that look in his face. I admit most likely is Luke but Palpatine being the Grandfather would be a better story twist. Heck in 30 years Rey could be the Grandchild of Palpatine AND Luke. Imagine the power there...

Palpatine could have intentionally planed his daughter to Daughter seduce Luke...

Talked to a college friend who works at Disney. She saw this movie last week in a screening, obviously wouldn't tell me Jack blast until now but for what it's worth, she did say everyone who saw the film with her (private Disney folks) thought Rey's heritage was clear as day and had very little doubt by the end.

I think Rey is Luke's daughter, but I won't care if she isn't as long as the story is well developed. One question though, if she is not Luke's daughter, then how can this trilogy be about the Skywalker family? Kylo Ren is Ben Solo. Princess Leia didn't change her name to Skywalker as far as I can tell. If she is NOT a Skywalker, then they'll have to introduce offspring from Luke somewhere in the two remaining films.

Also, how do you explain Rey being untrained yet more powerful than Leia somewhat trained Son? No reason to think Lukes Daughter would be more Powerful than Leia's son, but a Child born of Skywalkers and Palpatine would be much more Force Sensitive than even Luke though Luke would have the upper hand with being a Jedi Master.
