    Hello my dear Cantina mates!

    I was actively posting on another thread about Kylo Ren and how his real name was Ben.

    Do you think we will find out what is the real name of Rey in Episode VIII?

    Do you think it has any relevance? I guess speculation about this will be based on our own particular theories about her origins.

    Let me know what you think!

    I've heard a lot of theories about what her real name might be or weather it's just Rey. I think that it would be pretty cool actually to see her have a different name, like Kiera, I've saw some theories saying that is her real name. At the same time, it seems kind of unlikely because now, she is just Rey and people would have to adjust to the real name if it actually happened. But yeah, I'd be a cool twist.

    If she's related to the Skywalkers, I'm really attached to the idea that her real name is Breha (Leia's adoptive mother)

    I kinda doubt that she got her name from Dosmit Raeh's helmet. That would mean she remained nameless until she was old enough to teach herself that language and read what was written on the helmet.

    Plus, "Rey's Survival Guide" mentions that she had a woman taking care of her when she was younger (I forgot her name). So I can imagine this woman asked Rey what her name was and she said something that sounds like "Breha". Five year-olds don't have the best diction.

    Rey is short for Reymond. So there you go.

    I'm sure her full name will be Reymond Solo Skywalker Kenobi Palpatine.

    That's what I call hitting 4 birds with 1 stone.

    Ah yes, this question has popped up again! I was wondering when that would happen.
    I don't think there's any mystery about her first name, Rey. I think the rumors that came up asking if that was her real came from the production photos that were leaked or nabbed, when all along it was Rey. I think the true mystery is her last name, and where she comes from.

    I love these theories about what her christened name could be.

    The only reason I'm not jumping on this bandwagon is that it seems like a trend these days in other movie universes to give characters several names. In SW already, Obi Wan turned into Old Ben and Ben turned into Kylo Ren, so I really want Rey to be her name and not confuse us more :p

    Lol I reckon that would make sense. Same with Beru lol - if Leia had a daughter it would not make sense naming her after someone she didn't know.

    If I recall from the PT Shmi was buried near the Lars homestead some where, so Luke at one point in time would have known about the her from his uncle or aunt...
