SPECULATION Rey's staff and the Knight of Ren staff. Connection?

I gotta be honest man, Rey's staff hasn't been at the top of my TFA concerns list. However, I do think that it is possible to be connected to the Knights of Ren. Perhaps they came looking for Rey on Jakku and she killed one and took his staff. I do think that it might be a light saber staff or something like an electro-staff from ROTS.

 

Yeah makes one think about the Kylo Ren speaking dolls....seemingly talking to Rey...

Like he is suprised in some way...
Could be some form of connection.
The trailer has left me more intriguing then ever.

 

The two staffs don't appear to be the same one unless there is another staff in the shot I'm missing. They both probably like to use staffs and that's the connection.

In the shot with the seven, this dude is the only one with a visible weapon other then Kylo. And said weapon is a staff. Though I don't think there is a connection, maybe JJ and friends did this on purpose.

 

I have a purty crazy theory that Rey is an EX-KOR which is how she has all sorts of skills without being a Jedi.

 

Just an idea.



We see (most likely) Knights of Ren using blasters and staffs. We know, that Rey is using staff and blaster



In trailers someone ask her who is she, and she replies "I'm no one", that would imply that she doesn't want any extra attention drawn to her. And of course there is Kylo's line “Is it true? You're just a scavenger?”.

What if she was trained as a kid to become one of KOR and deflect this organisation/cult/order and reject Force seeing evil you can do with those powers?

What if she was a member (the one with the blaster or the one with the staff, although I'm leaning towards the former) and not only abandoned the group, but betrayed them as well?

@Rieekan, staffs are common, but the tip of the Magna Guard staff doesn't match the tip of Rey's staff shown in the picture.

 

What if that is MVS's character with the staff? He is rumored to be Rey's mentor of sorts and to meet an untimely demise at the hands of Kylo. Perhaps he was a former member of the seven and defected/ran away for some reason. Or these could just be special forces First order troopers. Who knows?

 

God please make the staff stuff stop! She obviously just found it while scavenging it probably helps her when she's in the belly of giant star destroyers...

 

Remember when Indiana Jones used the Staff of Ra to locate the Ark in the Well of Souls? Could he have been a former KOR?

Another staff thread? Seriously? Why is everyone so fixated on Reys effing staff? There are so many more interesting things to talk about in TFA.

 

Watch like in the actual film Rey's staff is indeed just a staff and she loses it like half way through and it is never mentioned again.

tHE JIST is that Rey thought she was doing "good" like The KOR, but she saw the errors of her ways and purposely left herself on Jakku as a punishment. She wants adventure but knows that she could easily be corrupted. That is why she avoids everything when it comes to fighting, especially KR.
