    Since she is a scavenger it isprobsbly just a regular staff made up of different parts.

    It couldn't be a saber because according to rumors she is scared/freaked out of Anakin/Luke's when they go to see Maz.

    But of course later she embraces it and uses it.

    i think rey (played by the sweet daisy ridley) is using a machinery part of the AT-AT she is living in. it could be a driveshaft of some sort ? who knows.

    What is that exactly for the uninitiated?



    Now, I'm clearly in the DPlag camp (namesake), but I'm unwilling to STAKE my reasoning on a staff.



    That said, it would seem it offers SOME purpose - even if inoperable - considering the asymmetric build and hole in the end. A bluntforce, pole-vaulting, multitool with a blaster/prod staff end would be cool. A hidden gem of a saberstaff would be better.

    M&S staffs were used primarily by the Accalwehc clan, they fought with these during the first suncrusher wars during the pre-republic stallone era.. but i'm unsure if this is still canon or not under the new Disney canon.. it was said somewhere in the Darth Plagueis book

    It could very be a lightsaber staff as the ones used by Jedi Temple Guards in Clone Wars.
    But by the looks of it i think it may be one of thos electro staffs used by the Grievous Guards in Ep. III

    It could also be a pocking stick like the guy above suggests, it would make a very good analogy with a frying pan and how it feels when someone hits your head with one

    It really could be a lot of things or really just nothing at all... my best guess would be that it's a curtain rod she scavenged whilst trash compactor diving on the SSD and was taking it back to spiff up her walker pad before getting sidetracked with Finn's drama.
