SPECULATION Rey's Trials

Well, it wouldn't stray from other on-screen, Jedi-in-training we've seen in the OT and PT.

Nah, she'd of been too young.

 

She seems old enough.

 

But when did she do them and who with? Luke's been missing years, Maz on another planet. The flashback thing it sounds like she's a child. Obi Wan had not faced his trial in TPM. I just don't think she would have been old enough however, now maybe after a quick recap on things she will be ready. But that's in the 'now' not the past. Luke was 21 I think, Rey seems either late teens - early twenties so she's probably at the prime candidate age.

 

I agree she could be of coming age, some close to Leia may have taken over the jedi order in Luke's absence, perhaps MVS was her mentor who then left the order.

 

I have an open mind but I doubt it, we'll see. It just seems too forced

 

It would be something new to the franchise seeing a apprentice in the making perform such a scene but then questions would arise about Finn's turn.

 

I understand but in regards to Finn am not going to speculate anything apart from the obvious. I just think that its not worth the hassle because whatever is said it gets twisted. Although I do believe he is force sensitive and I will leave it that. We have had enough threads ruined and I don't want this one to be.

 

I agree it's a Rey thread enough said.

 

This movie will be different from the other movies book it

we wont have the same story

Rey will be a Jedi like Finn

We will get Ren and his student vs Rey and Finn

different story

lets say we have 2 Jedi in different paths who turns

i say none of the 2 turns

i say Ren will get his student is it Poe ?

The idea of "Jedi Trials" is canon, but not what they are specifically (unless I'm missing something from Clone Wars/Rebels). I think the film makers have a lot of elbow room with that whole concept.

 

I think we might have a twist in the end, something like.. Rey captured by Kylo ren?
and why is that? well if we go with the idea that Rey is Luke's or Leia's Daughter taht would make her a priceless hostage no? either to trap the Resistance, or to make Luke come out of the shadow?
So I'd say Rey Trials are only getting started. she sure will have to face the Dark Side! In episode ( 7 ) it feels like she is in denial of something.. her jedi heritage?
she might see it as a curse or something..

 

I think it was a mistake of the PT to not establish what the trials were. Qui-Gon recommends Obi-Wan as ready but they treat his encounter with Maul as the trial and then never show Anakin's trial. Luke's trial were never formal because his training was informal. It would be cool to see Luke bringing Rey through a trial.

 

Its like in Clones, the Order stated that what happened to Ahsoka was a trial? That was the Inquisition, that was NO trial and if that was, doesn't that weaken what the Jedi Order is or was?

As for the trials of "Rey" i hope they don't try and spin this as him trying to seek out Luke as Luke was seeking out Yoda for formal training when in fact it wasn't. He might be the last Jedi, but is he really a Jedi? We don't know much about what Yoda taught him or not.

 

Well the whole inquisition arc showed the weakness of the Jedi and how bound they had become by protocol and who little they did/could rely on the force.

The Jedi were more than what we saw in the PT Luke's rise as a Jedi marked their true return. He must rebuild the Jedi as the ought to be. He must bring them back to the ideal which they strayed from something that likely haunted Yoda for 15 years as he waited for Obi-Wan to send him an apprentice.

 

That was the point i was trying to make, it really shows the direction and downward spiral that the Jedi had been going, they have become essentially administrators/protectors of the Republic. When they should have been REAL peace makers or stay out of it completely and allow the Republic to figure it out on therie own and have the Jedi order withdraw from the homeworld of the Republic.

I am not sure any longer if Luke will indeed recreate or should be recreate a new order of Jedi or force users, what would their purpose be and if so, that would mean that Luke would essentially be around for more movies after 9, as i am sure several more will come or arc off into other avenue as Disney did not to purchase the franchise of the next 3 movies and a few pre-movies like Bubba, Han and Rogue. If we are to get what would amount to Luke rebuilding a new Order of Force Users, he would need to be around for a while, in part that he is the only REAL Jedi left that could teach the ways of the force but again, what is or would be the purpose? It would seem like jsut the same cycle of Good Force Users vs. Bad Force Users.

How has she completed trials if she is no one and the jedi are just stories.
