HUMOR Rian Johnson calls out Mike Zeroh

Looks like the tweet has been deleted by Rian and Zeroh is now claiming abuse from fans because of it yet there is 0 evidence of it because: he locked his account and also, there was no abuse.

 

This is an accurate statement.

 

He overreacted. It's like bashing a 12-year-old (and still a fan, I guess - no matter how ridiculous his YT content is).

 

Zeroh is a grown man. No need to equate him to a child.
Zeroh presents himself with sources and access to information, he has neither.
Zeroh is one of those who creates these sort of "backlash" environments by endlessly creating bantha poodoo speculation videos that drive fans in to entrenched ideas of what is and what should be and creates needless bantha poodoo drama.

 

He's made himself look ridiculous to the point of being harmless, in my opinion. It takes one movie cycle to know his videos aren't worth anything. At this point everybody knows Zeroh's content is total BS, he's a meme. I don't pay attention to the rumours he posts because I know better, but from what I gather he's never been hateful or whatever. He's just a sensationalist. He's really not worth going after.

 

The problem is, there are swarms of people who DO take his stuff seriously and use his posts to fluff up rumors and blast like that.
He's not offering an opinion or constructive things. He is literally LYING about having sources to drum up drama and clicks at the expense of others.
He's a turd and there's nothing wrong with calling out a turd.

 

I agree. Mike Zeroh may spread fake news and stuff, but he's a nice dude who doesn't go with the hate like all the other Star Wars YouTubers.

 

That's on them. I think it's just the type of content that attracts this kind of people who will always be out there. And as I said, it takes one movie cycle to know all these "rumours" are false, so... If someone's still following Zeroh after that... Well, that's on them. His videos and track record are so ridiculous that I just can't be mad at it.

I say let him be and ignore as long as he's not being malicious.

At least he's not spoiling the movies like MSW does.

 

No, it's not on them. It's on the creator.
He claims to have sources and it's the same as Grace Randolph and other horse manure sites that claim to have sources but a peddling in lies and dishonesty.
If all Zeroh did was make up dumb fan theories that's one thing but he openly claims to have sources and produces lies based on those fake sources that do find their way back to film makers.

MSW doesn't "spoil" the movie. And they run reputable stories that if you don't want, you don't have to consume but at least there's truth and honesty there.

We are really going to "ding" a legit news source while defending the very definition of fake news?

 

He deserved it. I saw a few of his videos in the past, and he's very...shifty. He says whatever gets him clicks or approval, changing from one video to the next with no regard for the actual truth. And it doesn't matter how innocent he looks and acts. A lie is a lie whether one yells it or tells it politely. Too many people get away with crap just because their mellow personalities make them seem harmless.

 

Exactly. Spreading fake news is immoral and harmful. Sure, it's important to check the validity of your sources but people who are misinformed are not the perpetrators. They're the culprits. Besides, the only person who'll get abuse because of this is Rian.

No one harassed Mike because of what Rian had written (yes, I've searched for "Mike Zeroh" on Twitter and there was nothing malicious written about him during the last 24 hours except for a person who told he was a former friend of Mike but their friendship ended because of Mike not calling out a source of an infromation he took from another website.) The only person who will be harassed will be Rian because of him calling out Mike's lies.

Also - let's stop treating adult men like children. Zeroh knows perfectly well what he's doing and the influence he has on a certain section of the fandom. There's a reason why so much of his output is aimed against The Last Jedi and Rian. This isn't harmless. Quite the opposite.

I'm not defending Zeroh, his content is trash. But at this point he's such an easy target that it's beyond me how anybody would even want to waste time going after him. Everybody knows he's the epitome of ridiculous fake news in the Star Wars world. The guy keeps shooting at his feet over and over again. Judging by what he does on his channel, it just looks like he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and going after him (especially from Rian's position) seems kinda cruel, to be honest.

 

Not everyone knows though. That's the problem.
It cannot be assumed that everyone knows who Mike Zeroh is.
The reason people like Rian (those actually connected to Star Wars) "punch down" at Zeroh is because he keeps throwing pebbles at their cars.
Rian now has to answer about his movies because Zeroh is throwing blast out there. People want to be "red pilled" and believe a quack is part of that.

The Onion works because it clearly presents fake stories as ridiculous and fake.
Zeroh doesn't work because he's trying to pass lies as truths.

It's really that simple. If he wants people to stop knocking him, he should stop being a wanker.

Mike Zeroh makes money by spouting lies to dupe SW fans into clicking his videos. As far as I'm concerned, there's no reason to defend or excuse that guy. The way he's carrying on, he really is an language, and he likely knows it. Don't give him money by clicking his links, please.

 

I don't really have any specific opinions regarding Mike Zeroh but his voice...my god...it sounds like a caricature of a news reporter.

 

I got tired of Zeroh constantly stating on his videos that RJ's trilogy is cancelled and that KK is terminated. It really upset me, because if this really happened I would have read it on the reliable outlets I follow. I'm so happy and giddy with joy, that RJ responded. I really like RJ now because he had the balls to respond to this troll, who fuels TLJ backlash and hate.

He says over and over again that people hated TLJ and that's why Solo did so poorly.

My new favorite verb, Zeroh'd

 

This is so scummy to do and then want to be taken seriously. Imagine this stuff on the news:
"Man stabbed outside of a grocery store, news at 9!"
