    This quote concerns me.

    My sentiments exactly.

Cancel Culture = no one can handle a dissenting opinion anymore.

    I need a comfort pony.

    Amen.

If you get a comfort pony, I think we all should get comfort ponies.

I think the point I was making was anything to do with the ST always comes back to the same thing.. Johnson. Totally ok with people liking and disliking what they want and having different opinions then me. I am a big boy I can take it. So I expected this is a thread about Johnson.

This is a silly characterization of the article and what I said. The Last Jedi is already one of the best written Star War films. That's part of the reason so many people love it.

I'm pretty sure RJ is going to take his time to come up with something approaching the OT in richness, ambitious, and scaled. To be a NuSW, RJ's trilogy will have to be as big and bold and mythic (in the lack of a better word) as the familiar SW is, without retreading Lucas' path, and that will take a while writing. It would not surprise me if RJ spends the next 3-4-5 years planning, writing, plotting, re-writing, researching, re-re-writing his trilogy before ever taking the project into pre-production; his task is HUGE!

The other issue is what happens if the other Star Wars project isn't well received? If that were to happen Disney would likely pressure Lucasfilm to make something far less ambitious like a younger Luke trilogy. So there's likely some of it out of his control.

I mean younger than Luke in TLJ. So Luke's adventures after Return of the Jedi. Lucasfilm is keeping that era clear for future development.

What if it is the Uncle Owen trilogy!!! Movie 1 him dealing with the bank to get his first vaporator. Movie 2 the rainy season and almost losing the farm. Movie 3 He is not actually dead just burnt to sheet and he comes back as Space Dark man and he is pissed.

    I just hope not.

We dont need movies or series for every star wars character. They did with Solo, they did in Rogue One and now with Kenobi and Cassian Andor. I am much more excited with films and series that will show us something different than the ones that will try to explain some backstory of the characters we loved.

I just hope that Disney and LFL will give up with the idea of all these prequels stories.

    Hi all,

I've seen a couple of articles lately stating that RJ has confirmed that his trilogy will be set post-RoS and will feature no lightsabers (I'm paraphrasing from memory). I cannot find the source interview for this, however... Even Jason Ward mentioned it in passing in his latest video, but again without context. Does anyone know a source for this alleged RJ confirmation? Thanks :)

I have seen these as well and I dont know where they are coming from. I am so excited for what RJ brings next, although I dont think we will get any sort of update until Celebration. I suspect we will get new announcements filling in Disney film schedule. Remember that really post 2022 the only films on Disney schedule is 1 live action film in 2023, 3 Avatar films, and 2 Star Wars films. I suspect that 2023, 2025 and 2027 will have RJ films scheduled to go along with the 2022, 2024 and 2026 B&W films.

I'm pretty up to date with the Rian Johnson stuff and he's been extremely tight lipped about the entire project. It would be pretty big news if he gave any specifics. There were some rumors that his project was aimed at younger audiences, but that was kind of debunked.

Yeah, I'm sceptical towards this too, 'cause it should be pretty monumentous news concerning RJ's trilogy, yet there are only a couple of small fry articles out there. That said, and the only reason I even ansked about this, Jason Ward casualy mentioned in his lates video something to the effect of: "RJ's trilogy, which we know from several sources, including RJ himself, will be set post-RoS and contain no Jedi or lightsabers."

This made me go: "Wow, wow, wow! What did you say?", and then scout for verification, which I cannot find.

Weird stuff, this... (Of course, it is entirely possible I've misunderstood something somewhere).
