Nice. Solid cast. Really looking forward to this - initially mainly because I want RJ back to SW, but now I can say I really want to see this. One of my most anticipated films of 2019. Well, I hope it won't land in 2020...

Rian Johnson is a hot commodity because he's really good. Even that LCD Soundsystem video was fantastic. I'm looking forward to what he's doing even if it's not Star Wars.

I'm really impressed with the cast. I thought it was going to be a one-man show (Craig).

Judging by my vast knowledge of Christie novels (I've read two of them :p) all of them are ensemble pieces with one character that is primus inter pares, usually a detective or some other crime investigator.

And I bet that in Knives Out all these characters are vastly different and peculiar. :p He must have had fun writing this.

I suspect this was in the works before he got the Star Wars gig so he's had some time to refine it. Given his success with Star Wars I'm sure it's help pull in talent for this project. I can't wait to see it.

It was. Some journalist mentioned it on Twitter that before being accepted as a director of The Last Jedi he had been working on this film.

This has little impact on the scheduling, as the first movie in his series still would have been years off. This is just something that he was developing at an earlier point in time that will get made first. We would have to wait for his first spin-off a while regardless of whether or not he was doing this, so he might as well do this.

The cast for this film is ridiculous.

Something I gathered based on the nature of the genre. (Sorry for the late reply, I'm in the middle of doing a lot of catching up on multiple fronts.)

When Hollywood runs out of actors without scheduling conflicts. :p Or when the shoot ends. Either one of these two.

That ensemble of talent working on this movie sure subverted my expectations. ;)

In all seriousness though, Rian is a talented director and a good guy to work with. When there’s a trailer for this movie, I’ll check it out and if I like it, maybe I’ll watch the full thing! I’m also dying to know what his trilogy will be about!
