    THIS THREAD IS NOT TO DEBATE THE CRAPPINESS OF TLJ!

    So, I searched to make sure this hasn't been brought up before, and I didn't see it, other then when I brought it up in another thread, and it didn't seem to get much attention. You all know, if you've read my posts, that I do not like what RJ did in Star Wars, but....

    Has anyone seen the music video that was done by Rian Johnson? It's amazing. I argue that Rian is actually a good director, if not such a great writer. He might even be a decent writer.

    Obviously the music wasn't written by RJ, and, well, the music sucks IMO, unless you are into weird techno babble, if you are you will probably like the music, but the video is FREAKIN' AMAZING. Honestly, the first time I watched it, I cried. If you read the article included at that site, it also links to an older indie short of his that is pretty good too. Viewing them both, along with TLJ, it's pretty evident that he is a little pre-occupied with death, "unnatural" death (I don't mean this in a negative manner, I just see a theme, just watch the videos).

    I'm curious though of people's opinions of the video vs. TLJ.

    "This thread is not to debate the crappiness of TLJ." While in the process crapping on TLJ and saying he shouldn't "screw" with Star Wars. Okay, mate. :rolleyes: What do you mean by "strange death"? Luke did the same thing as Obi-Wan just on a much larger scale.

    I'm refering to the music video and the short movie. "unnatural" death may be the best way to put it??? I don't like that Luke is dead, but if he was going to die, I did want him to die like Obi-Wan. I don't want to spoil the linked video, because I think the ending is what makes it emotional. But when I watched the short movie, I just realized the theme across the 3.

    Keep it civil both of you. You both know the rules, so don't degrade each other and don't fall into bashing.

    This thread should not delve into the multitude of reasons people like or hate TLJ. We have enough of that. This is, I'm presuming, supposed to be a more thoughtful thread on Johnson's directing abilities, regardless of ones views of his Star Wars endeavor.
