    No joke this is exactly how I've felt since TLJ. I love all the other stuff being put out but I am BEYOND excited to see what his trilogy brings. It's nice to see very talented filmmakers working in SW. Rian Johnson, Patty Jenkins, and I'm pretty sure Taika Waititi even has his own film too.

    I think if people were concerned about Star Wars not growing, branching out, and creating unique films/eras/stories, the coming 5 or so years will probably put those people at ease.

    The pandemic has put a lot of things on hold right now. That said, the pandemic will eventually end will be normalish. Now, before the pandemic they were going to focus on tv anyway. It is worth mentioning that Investor Day had only one movie announced. I think Jenkins movie is going to come out at right the perfect time.

    The recent confirmation that Rian Johnson’s trilogy is still a “go” for launch has me very excited. Unlike some fans around here, I found The Last Jedi to be the most intriguing of the sequel trilogy films. Even though I find some decisions questionable, I like the fact that he takes the time to explore the motivations and reasons behind his characters. The Rey being a “nobody” was actually the biggest “I am your father” moment since “I am your father.” The controversy within fandom proves it.
    If I were to reach out to Rian and help him in the decision making process (wouldn’t that be a delight,) I would have this new trilogy be set during the ancient times, pre-republic at the start of the Jedi order. It seemed like Rian was going to explore the depths of that origin (Ach To, original jedi temple, etc,) but for whatever reason didn’t delve far in that direction.
