    I have to wonder why he chose not to direct Godzilla 2 at this point. He's already got a lot experience under his belt, his movies are generally well-liked, and the sequel won't be coming out until 2019.

    I believe he said some time ago that he wants to do a smaller project right now. While directing blockbusters is certainly profitable and fun (especially Star Wars,) but it is also an exhausting process.

    He was also gearing up for a break when Lucasfilm called him up. I'd say a break would be well-deserved and overdue.

    It would be cool if he takes this break and then directs the movie in 2020 or is at least offered it if this one is good enough financially.

    Nothing out of the usual that I noticed aside from him sitting down probably from the double knee replacement a while back. He may be uncomfortable standing up for long periods of time.
