Hyped to bursting, I can't wait for Rogue One (but I have to). Watched all the teasers, trailers, TV spots again today, and it occurred to me that this standalone film looks and definitely sounds like classic Star Wars.
I enjoy TFA but I haven't found myself quoting it that much. However I already find Rogue One insanely quotable and we have only a few minutes of footage!

I am already using "All is as the Force wills it", which is very versatile of course, and I love "Take hold of this moment", "I rebel", "Make ten count as a hundred", and many more. A lot of the lines are epic, I like that, while in TFA a lot of lines were kinda mundane (prime example: "You got a girlfriend?")

So, what do you foresee - will R1 be more quotable than R1? What's your favorite so far?

I can see where you are coming from and yes there are some good lines. TFA did have a couple like Han's line about "all the things you have heard about the Jedi are real. All of it." And one I have actually heard quoted in RL "that's worth one half portion" but beyond that I don't recall any major good one liner quotables.

That "I rebel" line though always makes me cringe. I hope given the context of the whole back and forth it will strike me better but for now that one for me is an actual red mark. On the other hand I do really like Jyn's line about "we will take the next chance, and the next until we win or they are all spent."

There are a few Jyn lines that have me worried, but evidently they have different takes to choose from for their promos. I guess I just love the rebellious sentiment so much, having rebelled quite a bit myself.

Oh yes there are good quotes in TFA, no doubt, but IMO not too many are great. I enjoyed many of the funny ones, as well as some of Kylo's lines.. but when I hear "Take hold of this moment!" I get goosebumps all over.

About the "I rebel" I won't get to personal but I guess having dealt with the downside of an irrationally rebellious sibling in my teenager years is why it just strikes me as a teenagery cringe inducing kind of thing.

Chirrut's "Take hold of this moment" as well as the "She wants to fight" are all good ones though. The one other line that stands out, but not because the content is bad, but because the delivery-editing of the line just stand outs really odd to me is when Chirrut says "You almost shot me." It just doesn't sound organic tone wise, like it was poorly dubbed over and a later time and either Donnie Yen couldn't make it sound smooth in the recording studio or it's not even him they used to dub over.

I agree with you my friend quotes like ''I fear nothing. All is as the Force wills it.'' are just so cool and maybe I'm alone in this one but I really like K2SO's ''The captain says you are a friend. I will not kill you.'' RO will have many memorable lines and the more I see the trailers the more pummped I get!

I can quote TFA constantly. My favourite quote from Rogue One is from the first teaser: the "What will you do...." quote, because it will definitely not be in the final movie :D. Further, the only lines which genuinely make me crinch are Chirrut's. They're really bad.

They're trying to make him sound very "mystical" from what I can tell.

Wasn't really his lines that got me worried, but his acting, they made a little mistake in the first teasers he had only one expression (this "I feel the force" look") and after repeated viewings it was getting on my nerve. Now it is all good since we saw more of him.

I liked some TFA quotes, and I think given the time even more will grow on us so far, "That's not how the x works" is my most used. From R1 I like "What will you become", since Star Wars was always about finding a destiny and grow through challenge.

Chirrut is like: "take hold of this moment". He's that typical new age guy/woman at work who comes up with the great idea of making meetings shorter and more effective by doing a round of meditation first.

I remember Chirrut's reaction in London when big gun Baze dropped a big bomb spoiler on their characters. It was like "take hold of this moment" but with a fist and an eye roll.

To me he sounds mostly Asian ("the Faws") and I'm lovin' it; but yeah, he sounds and seems like he's the anchor to the Force in the movie, along with (in a lesser capacity I assume) Lyra Erso.

Oh yeah, "That's not how the Faws works" - I've used that one a few times. Also, "You talk first? I talk first?", "Forgive me, I feel it again" (quite useful when you're trying to get intimate with your better half) and, to my students, "Finish what you started" (or else (emperor))

But seriously, I meant it like "I recognize his dialect/Engwish more than a mystical quality'

Just realized Rogue One already has quotes at IDMB, scrolling down the page .. it's like a statement: Here comes a quotable Star Wars movie! Compared to the dialogue of, say, All on the Computer, Rogue One seems to be in good hands.

A line I don't like is "We have hope. Rebellions are built on hope!"
I mean, I like cheese but not when I have to eat a wheel.
