Rogue One on IMDB - 8.6/10

Those are just the usual fanboy 10/10 and hater 1/10 votes before the release of a movie.

 

249 people have seen it before the world's premiere ?

 

We will get a lot of reactions tonight though. We should know if the movie is good then.

 

Still think the number is high. Between 1 and 250 ... We should have more feedback.

BTW, I've no doubt it is awesome.

 

Anyone can go on imdb and vote right now. For big blockbusters the imdb rating is basically meaningless until you reach 100k or more votes.

 

I read a couple of the reviews over there just now for Rogue One and they seemed so vague and agenda riddled I don't think they can be trusted at this point.

 

yeah, just remember, even i can go rate RO right now and i won't see it for 5 days. Don't trust IMBD ratings, its a cesspool of fakers and bandwangoners that either give 10's or 0's

I'm ignoring the IMDB. The amount of stupid people dropping either 1/10 or 10/10 for a movie is intolerable. Also, the IMDB is a forum which gives free reign to some serious trolling. I like rottentomatoes, because they present aggregated scores. I don't like metacritic, because they privilege associated media. But I much prefer my own Dutch media, because they're not so easily influenced by hype or the american reception of a movie.

Just read this lovely nr. 1 Rogue One review on the IMDB as an example of the decline of what was once a wonderful platform. And take note, the same happened with TFA. Extreme right wing pundits and trolls find star wars an easy target:

Star Wars has always been an overrated as hell franchise that is exclusively made for kids yet has garnered a rather mental following of basement dwellers. These freaks are the kind to send death threats to anyone who hates their unrealistic franchise, much like the Marvelites, Pixar fanatics, and Bronies. ZERO reason for the original to be nominated for Best Picture.

Now Disney is garnering a brand new audience for their recently acquired Star Wars (because we can't feed a tyrannical monopoly enough); the Social Justice Warriors and Hillary supporters.

Instead of focusing on making "quality" entertainment (not that Star Wars ever was), they are empowering Judaism and the anti-white movement. This country has gone down the gutter with that illegal alien Obummer as president and now with this Zionist propaganda it might be too late for the new administration.

As the 45th president of the United States, I fully hope and predict Donald J. Trump will track down these domestic terrorists supporting this film, Hillary, Israel, and Disney and deport them to North Korea. Since they support leftist values so much that's what they get in return.

We need to boycott Disney, Marvel, Hasbro, Starbucks, Hershey's, and any other Israeli- funded companies to prevent SJW terrorism (which is almost as bad as Islamic terrorism).

IMDB rating is really nothing more than a tool for internet trolls and haters. If you exclude all the TFA haters who gave the movie 1/10, overall rating would be much higher than it is now.

 

Important to note is that these type of people, the trolls, really are very offended by the content. They create multiple accounts on multiple platforms in the hope that their opinion will count and under the principle that the loudest voice wins. Furthermore, it should be said that the trolls are highly effective.

 

I'm not bothered by this rating, it's given a opinion, it's all about individual viewing opinion.

 

Sorry I forget to mention it being a IMDB opinion.

Bare in mind, most of these reviews are walk in journos and movie critics (I work in Media) and some are so sensitive to movies.
Most of these guys are complete Star Wars casuals and really don't have a strong understanding of the SW universe.
Now that's fine, but when the movie hits mainstream and the die hard fans (Us) get to see it, you'll see that score go up I reckon, same thing
happened when TFA first got to the sneakers for early viewings. Went like 7.9 to 8.8 in the week and settled at like 8.2
