    You can set custom search parameters at www.imdb.com/search/title I tend to like to set it at 5K votes and then exclude those that have less than 1K US votes and less than a 6.5 from the top voters.

    Curiously, of the 13 top voters, they don't like the movie much, giving it a 5.4.

    I tend to find that the movie ratings fluctuate until it has been on netflix or home release for a while. I mean, the people going to theaters and paying to see the film are the ones that are most predisposed to enjoy it. The more casual viewers will check it out on hulu in a year.

    Sometimes I get angry that trolls like that get access to the movie before I do...

    Then I remember that more likely than not they haven't seen it yet either, thereby further invalidating their pathetic reviews.

    But my intention on create the thread was focus that some people already had watched the movie and not the rating itself.
    There are a lot of movies on IMDB with 6.5 or less in rating that I consider masterpieces and there are a lot with a good rating that I dislike a lot, example: ROTS.

    IMDB ratings are pretty much worthless at first - the movie's not yet in wide release, meaning that most of the people voting on the movie haven't seen it, and even then, there's no real use in the system that they have until a real consensus about the movie is reached, which usually takes a week or two. For a time, James Franco and Seth Rogen's The Interview was somewhere in the IMDB Top 250 because people were mass-upvoting it as protest against the North Korean-led hack of Sony's data. Now, it's sitting at a rather unremarkable 6.6/10.

    The two one-star user reviews that are up for Rogue One right now are from brand-new accounts that haven't been used for anything else, and are very clearly written by people who are misguided into thinking that the movie is attacking a certain political figure in particular (it isn't, even if the writers have admitted that they're opposed to the man in question) or is trying too hard to be "PC" (ironic how offended they get over the idea of a movie supporting multiculturalism when they're insistent upon people "telling it like it is" instead of holding back on their positions to keep anyone from being offended). And technically, it works both ways, as there are people who are giving this movie ten-star ratings without seeing it solely because they're fans of the franchise.

    In the end, none of this is going to affect how the movie does at the box office. It's just a matter of trolls and fanboys flinging poop at one another until the actual audience weighs in on the movie.

    For the record, I think IMDB should close off ratings and reviews until after the movie is released to the public. While there are indeed a handful of critics who see the movie in advance, they in no way counter-balance the horde of fake "reviews" that flood the site. At this moment, the trolls own IMDB and it's genuinely disheartening.

    TL;DR ..... Wait til it's released to check the IMDB score.

    It looks like the one-stars and the ten-stars are balancing each other out, as the net rating has gone from a 7.6 to a 7.7. I still think it's ridiculous to take the rating seriously at this point, as the movie is still not yet in wide release, but I thought it was worth bringing up.

    All the Dutch reviews of Rogue One are in: aggregated 5/5 stars, lowest score 'Dagblad Trouw' 4/5 stars. Dutch newspapers also paying considerable attention to the US 'Alternate Right' / extreme right's call to its members to ban Rogue One. Interesting, because this might contextualize the 1/10 reviews Rogue One and TFA got on the IMDB a bit, especially when reading some of the reviews like the one I posted abovfe.

    It's very clearly the case, particularly with the user reviews on RT (most of which is obvious trolling).

    From what I can tell, though, nothing in the movie is explicitly there to attack he-who-must-not-be-named in particular.

    They say the movie is the start of an effort to eradicate white males. I'm not kidding. Diego Luna is not white enough apparently, because he's Mexican of all people (Yes that wall Matt Damon was defending in the trailer, did not keep Diego out). Felicity Jones, is a woman lead.........and well they hate women leading anything. Baze and Chirrut are asian...........and well they think because China rules Disney etc. And Bohdi Hook is BRITISH AND FROM PAKISTAN.........and wow, they must really hate him.
