if a TIE-fighter vs. a Star Destroyer doesn't constitute a "space battle" i'll need to have space battle defined for me.

I agree they've become lost, but for different reasons. My primary issue is that TFA and now Rogue One have become politicized and Star Wars is now essentially social justice warriors in space.

This was never, ever what George Lucas intended this story to be about.

Yes, George never wrote a story that involved multicultural factions standing up to a monochromatic, one-gendered, creativity-stifiling, all-powerful fascist regime. Yeah, George never ever wrote that story. Ever.

Yes, and George never wrote a tragic story about a religious order becoming so dogmatic and misunderstanding of love and human connection that it failed and its members slaughtered.

Yes, and George never wrote a story about unconditional love breaking the bonds of darkness and bringing about redemption and saving of a galaxy.

Yes, and George never wrote a story that celebrated a female protagonist except the one he turned over to Dave Filoni, and that other one he turned over to Disney.

Yeah, and George never wrote a story that involved a pirate, a butler robot, a bunch of multi-colored teddy bears, a warrior princess with a trigger finger, a farmboy, a yeti, a little green elf, an old guy, a jive talking smooth black guy leading a starfighter force that included an Asian guy and another black guy, a female-led rebel faction (well, actually 2 of them), a squid military leader taking on a white-male led fascist regime.
Nope, he never wrote that story. Nope, never.

Except that trilogy of movies from 1977 to 1983. But I guess that's not what we're discussing here.

Isnt that what he did actually intend his story about? SJWs defeat the space nazis? It was Lucas who wanted a female to lead the new trilogy, dont forget...

Yeah, how DARE they incorporate diversity and not actually make a big deal about it, really just letting it speak for itself with an amazingly talent cast. And it's not like Lucas ever incorporated human diversity and broke stereotypes, like having a badass rebel princess or Billy Dee "Smooth af" Williams. And he totally didn't suggest having a female protagonist for Episode VII.

Also, yeah, George Lucas never was political about Star Wars.

Movie audiences are getting fed-up with leftwing politics being shoved down their throats. This is a fact.
The all female Ghostbusters reboot failed for this very reason.

The same could happen with Star Wars if Disney doesn't quickly get the series back on track.

ps, I'm voting for Trump :D

Ghostbusters 2016 failed because it was a sh** film.

The media fabricated a lot of sexist hate, which actually brought the film a lot of pity and support via an Internet/media sh**storm.

But it still failed because it was sh**.

Similarly with TFA, which never shoved political messages down our throat. It was mostly Internet media which brought the "issues" front and center, as usual. Because drama is fun, right?

But just looking at the film, characters like Rey and Finn were unique, likeable, and they worked. That's enough for me.

#1 Ghostbusters failed because it went full retard with feminism; which outside of a few select idiots, nobody really cares for.

#2 TFA was pure liberal/commie propaganda from start to finish. Perhaps you should re-watch the film?

#3 Nothing was unique in TFA. It was all ripped off from ANH and Empire and then repackaged.

ps, I'm still voting for Trump :D
