That might be the wisest thing you've ever said. It's among the wisest things ever said on the internet, to be honest.

I have other reasons why it is lost. It's because they are rebooting to the Originals too much and completely ignoring the Prequels. Hayden isn't even playing Darth Vader to have an unmasked moment when this is the perfect opportunity to show us pale, scarred and still hurt Anakin Skywalker underneath the monster. :( Yes there were good things in the prequels and they exist whether the crybabies like it or not. It's George Lucas's vision and the Prequels in many ways still brought me to a galaxy far far away! Why this dismal, gritty, set feeling everywhere? I love the Tattooien's and Hoth's, but I also loved Coruscant and Cloud City! RO looks like the same small and all natural sets that TFA only had which to me was pretty disappointing and unimaginative. I want to see Vader in an environment other then a spaceship or bare land. Damn it.

The Republic Assault ships had landing gear that allowed them to land and disembark troops directly onto a planet. An ISD had no such landing gear. I've seen nor read anything indicating an ISD could land but have read they could enter atmosphere to provide direct support. However, I don't see this as being a smart thing tactically. In atmosphere, an ISD would lose most of it's maneuverability limiting its ability to bring all weapons to bear. I think I'd want to keep mine in orbit to provide bombardment and keep them safer from enemy fire.

    Care to elaborate on this?

Ok here's the deal Astro. Either you straighten up your slick crap or your going to get banned. Permanently or not will be decided. I will say this, you are closer to the permanent than the temporary. Play times over. You we're pushing it many months ago. You've been given passes time and time again and now it's done.

    1. I can sympathize with your first reason, but bear in mind that we have who-knows-how-many Anthology films left which could explore the territory you're interested in, along with two more Episode films (at least two...?)
    2. Coming from a guy who likes actor / character consistency whenever possible... Would there be any particular story reason to show the maskless Vader? He's scarred and hurt, but he's a full-on villain at this point. Especially considering that Rogue One (it seems) is dealing with Vader as people on the ground see him, it's unlikely that they'd go out of their way to "humanize" him. The emphasis in this movie, from what we've heard, is on him as a frightening threat and a force (no pun intended) to be reckoned with. Hence, it makes more sense for the mask to stay on. And there's another thing, too: this movie is leading closely into A New Hope, and to me, at least, Hayden's appearance in the suit looked noticeably different than Prowse's (Hayden makes the head look so big!). It makes more sense for them to get an actor that more closely resembles Prowse's physicality.
    3. Mon Mothma and Bail Organa are both in Rogue One, as played by their prequel actors. Add in Saw Gerrera from TCW and I really have to ask: does this truly sound like hating the prequels? Yes, TFA conveniently walked around most prequel stuff, but I truly think that might change as Disney and Lucasfilm have more franchise success.
    4. Well, remember, in Rogue One's case they're making a SW war film. That calls for "dismal, gritty set feeling." I absolutely agree that the prequels had some great and more imaginative locales, and I hope to see such things in the future right along with you. But Rogue One may not be the film to include those in.
    5. Back to point #1: remember, we're only 2 films into the "new SW." Lucasfilm may yet have some surprises in store. Wait and see. :)

Yep! Ep 9 will have Rey travel back in time to stop Snoke when he first introduced Palpatine to the Dark Side. She will inadvertently kill Jar Jar thus altering the timeline as we know it!!

Back in the old days, I was always thinking an ISD is too large to enter an atmosphere, because then the empire would have used them to directly intervene in planetary assault more often.

But there’s a new canon explanation in the book Battlefront –Twilight company:

An ISD can operate within an atmosphere as long as it is not an hostile environment. It will need its main energy and power to keep up the repulsor and maneuvering systems, cutting short on shield and guns. When engaged in into combat, it’s prone to crashing and/or getting shot down. A danger that the Herald was in over Sullust when their propulsion system got damaged.

Ok Astro here's the situation. You've been a constant aggravation and nuisance on the board for well over a year. The Staff and 1030th have bent over backwards time and time again in vain attempts to try and work things out with you hoping you would ease up and show some respect to our leniency. This situation has come to a head and it's time to take more serious action. You are officially banned from The Cantina for two weeks starting today. If at that time you do not show any improvement then naturally the Staff and 1030th will discuss it and take the necessary actions.

Please do not discuss politics or make derogatory remarks about gender in the forums. Thank you.

    EDIT:

Let me elaborate a little on the above statement regarding political commentary. Having fun and discussing politics within the star wars universe is one thing. But when a member is flaming his or her political views like "I'm still voting for Trump", or "TFA was pure liberal/commie propaganda", it's inappropriate commentary in the forums. Please keep your personal political/religious views and positions to yourself. Thank you.

If you think Star Wars was free of leftwing politics than you are incredibly delusional. The whole prequel trilogy was Lucas's criticism of the Bush administration and the Iraq war. Some conservative websites even urged for a boycott of ROTS back then.
He even gave Bush's words to Anakin: "If you're not with me, then your're my enemy" (Bush: "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists")

George Lucas on the Iraq war: "The parallels between Vietnam and what we're doing in Iraq now are unbelievable"

Can you elaborate please? Aside of having a female lead (which was Lucas's idea) what is the difference between the OT and TFA's political narrative?
Btw, nothing. There is absolutely no propaganda in TFA (at least which would be different than the OT's political vision). If you think there is, its just forced delusion from blind haters. Having a female lead is not equal with feminism. Have a look at Thelma and Louise or The Color Purple for real feminist movies...

From what we've seen Rogue One looks amazing. The film expands the universe well and properly tells an important story in the Star Wars galaxy. I'll reserve my final judgement for the film... but c'mon... Rogue One looks and feels immaculate and even I was sceptical at first.

For those who can't see that...

Ah yes, that scene where the resistance seized the means of production and called for a socialised economy under direct worker control. One of my fav bits of TFA.

J.J. wanted his movie to be very different, thats why he created a slightly rearrange of ANH and mixed it with some minor elements of TESB and ROTJ.
I don't want to complain, I guess we wanted it to be very similar to the OT.
To be honest, J.J. is not the best in creating a "original story" in my opinion.
Recent examples are his last two movies: Star Trek Into Darkness and TFA.

Feminism is not the same as the female gender. Although feminists would love that you're making them one in the same. This is their dream in fact. Mission accomplished.

As far as mentioning politics, when Disney stops politicizing their films, which they've done to the most extreme degree with TFA and now Rogue One, then I'll stop pointing it out. Thank you.

Edit: Also, how can saying I'm voting for Trump be interpreted as "trolling"?Just having a little fun, this is, after all, the reason we're here, right?

JJ has never created a good film in his entire twenty year career....yet for some reason, studios kept giving him more and more work.
I was always under the impression that you had to actually achieve something before being rewarded.

But it seems JJ's tremendous "success" in Hollywood proves this was in fact an erroneous line of thinking.
